I am back!

I’ve been missing in action for a while.

I have been spending precious time with my now 8 month old son and just turned 4 year old daughter before she starts school in a few weeks 😭

I’ve also had a tough time personally caring for my husband who is suffering with severe OCD.

I have also resigned from my part time marketing job, so I can fully focus on growing my business. And I am excited to get started. Working on my own terms to fit around the kids and helping to support my husband too.

With my daughter starting school and no part time job to fit in to the schedule it means I now have availability to take on new SEO and Website clients/projects from September.

I am looking forward to getting stuck into working again and helping clients with their websites and getting found on search engines.

Don’t be like Evri.

If you decide to change your domain name and website, make sure migration is completely correctly.

The Evri website has so many links pointing to the Hermes domain which no longer exists. So many ‘oops’ pages.

Poor user experience.

Even the label which is sent via email to print links to an old Hermes page and so goes to a server error!

Has anyone else had issues on the Evri website?

This really does show the importance of being visible.

Over the last 21 days, I have been taking part in visibility sprint. It really does make a difference, and only took a few minutes a day to do.

Visibility, whether it is through social media, email, or getting found on Google is so important. If people don’t know about you, they can’t buy from you!

Over the past 12 years I have used many of the SEO tools in different businesses.

My favourite one at the moment is ahrefs as it is easy to use,understand and provides great data and information.

Away from SEO, I love using trello to help keep me a little bit organised, and Canva for my designs (can you tell?! 🤣)

I remember walking into a new job not long after graduating from university. I was introduced to different teams within the company, as you are when you join. My manager introduced me as the SEO and PPC expert. I felt a state of panic. I wasn’t even sure what SEO and PPC was. I had applied for a role as a Digital Marketing Assistant but didn’t have any experience. My Business and Marketing Degree only touched on e-marketing (as it was called in those days) in one small module. I felt overwhelmed and out of my depth.

I got through the day and went home. That night I started questioning whether this role was really for me. Could I actually do a role where I wasn’t even sure where to start?

But I went in the next day. The rest is history.

Since that day, I have learnt on the job, I have seen how different Google updates can affect a site so drastically overnight, I have seen the frustrations of how to get a website found on google.

But I have also experienced the joy of always learning. Always having a challenge and getting excited when you see your website climbing up the rankings. When you get leads coming in from organic traffic.

I started not knowing anything about SEO too. I have learnt it from experience. From learning and implementing, testing and seeing what happens.

SEO doesn’t have to be daunting.

It can be fun too.
