My wonderful client, Eliza Jane Howell, launch their first collection without their founder, Gill Harvey this week at Bridal Fashion Week in Barcelona. We wish them all the luck in the world. With Andrea at the helm and Gill’s protégé, Catherine, responsible for the latest collection, they have begun a hugely exciting new chapter for the company.

It's a bitter sweet moment for us as it's the first show without Gill. But I know our new designer Catherine has done Gill proud and breathed new life into our collection just as Gill planned

I feel so incredibly sad to learn today that one of my longest standing clients, Eliza Jane Howell , has lost its founder, Gill Harvey.

Gill was a brilliantly gifted fashion designer and a very special person. She was very kind and supportive to me and I have always felt honoured to have been trusted by Gill and her wonderful team with design assignments over many years. She will live on through her company and the legacy of her incredible creativity and work.

This is a post I hoped I would never have to share
Our darling Gill sadly passed away yesterday evening having secretly battled cancer for nearly a year.
We are all heart broken and a very special light has truly gone out
Gill was our friend, our inspiration, my wonderful business partner, she was always so kind to everyone and a truly gifted fashion designer and industry icon.
But her team here at Eliza Jane Howell will continue to build on her brilliant legacy

We are sorry to hear that legendary Japanese fashion designer Issey Miyake has died aged 84.
After cutting his teeth in the ateliers of Guy Laroche and Givenchy, Miyake founded his eponymous brand in 1970, and became renowned for his technology-driven designs – in particular the signature pleating technique that informed his enduringly popular Pleats Please label
