Do you receive loads of awful cold pitch emails every day & wonder why these companies bother & if they work?

Do you want to make more sales in your business & have an existing list you don't utilise?

Would you like to read Emails about how to send good Emails?

I can't remember the first time I sent an email but I bet it was 25 years ago.

I've had some big successes from it - which I'd like to share in a weekly email to you all.

Tips & tricks I've used to generate sales from existing & cold audiences & some other fun stuff that's come from email too.

I'll also be embarking on an experiment.

Over the coming weeks I'll be identifying and entirely cold audience and emailing them in an attempt to see if cold email is worth it.

I'd love to share this journey & the content with you, warts & all, in the weekly Email about Email.

**UPDATE** Where have I been?!

Back in August I took on a BIIIIG project supporting the launch of a new 280 capacity bar called The Wine Room City in Nottingham city centre. Since then it's been none stop & I absolutely love it.

From spread sheets to manage the 100's of tiny moving parts of a project of this size, building a team, budgets, sales projections & even getting the glue gun out to make 7 feather chandeliers... This job has given me my purpose back after 18 months of clinging on by a thread through Covid.

My biggest strength has always been identifying areas of potential and supporting people and businesses with their growth - and this project does all of that.

I'm sat in the job centre as I write this speaking with young people about coming to join our team and as grey as it is here, it's so lovely to see how the new recruits we took on 4 weeks ago have flourished already.

The whole project is a very complex job that's fulfilling and challenging & I'm so very glad to be back out doing all of the customer care.

So Chatterbox is still around but my focus won't be on social media - I've missed people too much!!

My business is 3 & I've somehow managed to keep it alive! (Just)

My mojo very nearly disappeared forever 2 months ago & I was frantically applying for jobs because I didn't think I could handle the ups & downs any more.

Reflecting back as I usually do during these milestones though, it's been a good year.

I've worked on branding projects which I forgot I loved doing, I've featured in a book and spoken out about my experiences in big news publications. I learned getting Covid impacted my ability to deliver good service & unfortunately that's probably why I lost the job, I didn't manage my own customer care well. I've built stronger relationships with connections despite not being able to go to the pub with them. I've launched something I'm not sure I want to do and I worked in my pjs, A LOT.

Most importantly though I've had time to develop what it is I want to do going forward. For me business isn't about having a big thing that makes me loads of money.

It's about family - my own and yours.

It's about supporting you in expanding your own business at that crucial stage when you want to grow but are a little unsure how to do it alone.

And I've come out lockdown to a big job developing culture and service standards on an expansion project in my favourite sector - PUBS!

I have no idea what will happen this year but that's part of the excitement isn't it 🤩

“One customer well taken care of could be more valuable than £10k worth of advertising.”– Jim Rohn

Why?

Customers well cared for will buy more and bring in more business via referral.

Neither of these additional purchases cost your business anything other than implementing a strong customer care strategy.

I don't see repeat business talked about often but it's SO important to cultivate.

It's the glue that will hold everything else together.

Do you have processes to deal with customer care?

Since you've been an adult, have you ever used Lego to learn?

A couple of years ago I went to a business strategy day with and spent the whole day playing with Lego!

We had 5 minutes to built it and after spending 4.5 minutes of that staring at the pile of bricks, I came up with this.

🖍️ The towers are my customers business
🖍️ The eyes my customers
🖍️ The flags, my customers goals
🖍️ The Lego woman with the flowery hat? Me, driving my clients forward!

Next we had to build the biggest problem in our business.

Mine was my confuzzled mind, so I took of my Lego woman's head & placed it upside down.

are an approved provider and out of all the workshops I've been to, this was by far my favourite ever.

Do you use anything innovative to help your customers learn?

Your customers might not know about everything you sell. You have to tell them.

Can you dedicate 1 hour per week to communicating additional products to existing customers?

This may solve problems your customers are currently facing and bring your business more money.

Go try it and let me know how you get on.

Every 2 days we create as much information as we did in the entire time up to 2003.

Read that again.

Every 2 days. TWO DAYS. As much information is created as the entire world created since the dawn of time.

What I'm more interested in though is how much people give a s**t about each other behind all the information created.

It's easy to tell the internet something that makes your business look really good, so you can sell stuff. It's easy to write words that invoke a specific emotion, to get people to buy stuff.

What's not so easy nowadays is taking the time to care for people from a genuine place of understanding.

What are you doing in your business to show people that you care about them?

I'm 35 this month. It won't be the normal shenanigans but one day pubs and laughter with friends will be legal again. I get to spend my day with my nephew too and I'm happy about that.

January felt 967 days long bit also 5 minutes. I'm not sure what I did with it because recovering from Covid seemed to take up all of my energy but somehow I've come out the other side having had one of my best months in business.

I'm enjoying a much slower pace, I think I'll stick to it.

How was you January?
