This is what I tell myself.

Be greater than great.

What do I mean?

Before I repositioned my company I was a little confused and frustrated.

I love branding and design and loved my clients. But it wasn't enough.

So I decided to do something beyond making money. Help social impact companies spread their message by helping them build a strong brand.

Speaking about making a difference and making a difference are two very different things. Both are great. But one is greater.

A year ago today…

I realised something.

A simple shift would have a huge impact.

The product I used every morning and evening is the most common plastic waste products in our oceans.
The same piece of plastic I used to clean my mouth was choking sea creatures.

Here are 5 reasons why I STOPPED using my plastic toothbrush:
- Pollutes the oceans and beaches
- Harmful to the sea life
- Over a billion brushes are thrown away every year
- Takes over 500 years to decompose
- Biograde into microplastic which eventually makes their way into our body through water or food.

Here are 5 reasons why I STARTED using a bamboo toothbrush:
+ Biodegradable breaking down in compost within around 6 months.
+ Bamboo plant is termed as the fastest growing plant in the world
+ Lower carbon footprint
+ Bamboo plant needs very little water and does not need pesticides.
+ Antimicrobial agents that do not allow bacterial growth in your mouth

If you think you can change the world, most likely you can.

Transparency is a buzzword that has hit the fashion industry and it seems like everyone wants to be seen as transparent.
BUT what does transparency really mean and is there a difference between brands that display the word transparency and those that don’t?

The conversation about transparency stems from the lack of consumer awareness of how their clothes are made.

Many people own multiple clothes items yet have no clue where they were made or what was actually happening to the people who make them.

We as consumers need to be responsible for this lack of awareness, we are the ones buying these clothes, we can be informed about where they were made, and what happened to those who produced them.

I believe the first step to becoming responsible is educating yourself on the current issues facing consumers and suppliers in the fashion industry.

First time hosting a room on ClubHouse

Not going to lie...

I was hoping no one turns up 😬

I could hear my inner thoughts:
What if I make no sense?
What if I have no clue how to answer a question?

We went for it anyway and happy to share once we got started it felt great! 💪🏽

Naturally, we feel worried about trying something NEW but I feel once we take a leap, we start being more courageous.

Courage comes from taking small steps towards your fear⛰

Here are a few things I believe worked well for us:

✳️ Chose a topic that felt like second nature to us.

✳️ Titled the room starting with “Our experience” so there was no right or wrong answer.

✳️ Mentally prepared ourselves.
If we don't know the answer then it is okay to say “I am not sure, will get back to you" or ask someone in the audience if they can help with that particular question.

✳️ Went in with the mindset of creating space for others to chat, communicate and share their experience.

✳️ My co-host Tom Costello and I used Zoom as an additional channel of communication.
