Caitlin Martin, daughter of our Senior Project Manager Jennifer, was in the starting line-up of the Scotland u15 Women's team, who beat Northern Ireland 6-1 in a friendly in Belfast last week. As her sponsors, everyone at ALTAR Group and Blue2 is over the moon for her!

It’s 1,673 miles from Blue2 developer Emanuele Brignone’s home in Nettuno, near Rome and our office in Broughty Ferry.

However, distance has proved no barrier for the talented Italian in his impressive development work on a number of eye-catching client websites over the last few years.

Emanuele, who is celebrating his fourth year with us, began his Blue2 career in Broughty Ferry in 2020. After a year of working in Scotland, Emanuele went back home as soon as Covid lockdown restrictions eased off but that was not the end of Emanuele’s Blue2 journey and he has remained an integral part of our team for the last three years.

This week, we said ‘buongiorno’ again to Emanuele for the first time in three years, as he came ‘back home’, making a flying visit to Scotland to meet a number of key clients and enjoy a post-work meal at Pizza Revolution - Broughty Ferry with his colleagues.

Emanuele said: “I work from my home in Italy for Blue2 but while I live so far away, I never feel alone.

“I really appreciate the fact that they wanted to keep me on as an employee when I moved back to Italy and I always feel like I’m part of one big, friendly team. They include me in everything they do - I even celebrated my Christmas lunch with everyone from ALTAR Group on a video call.

“But there’s something special about seeing people again in person and reconnecting beyond the computer so it’s great to be back in Scotland for a visit.”

Congratulations Caitlin ⚽️ 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We love to mark the achievements of our employees and their families and this one is definitely worth celebrating.

This is Caitlin, the daughter of Blue2 Digital’s Senior Project Manager Jennifer Martin, after she was given the news that she had been selected for the Scottish Schools Football Association in the SAFIB Bob Docherty Cup in March.

Centre-half Caitlin, who plays for Celtic Women Under-16s, will travel to the Republic of Ireland to face the host nation, England and Northern Ireland in the prestigious four-team tournament.

Caitlin's journey to this point is truly remarkable, showcasing her unwavering resilience inherited from her mum Jen. Despite narrowly missing out on selection in the two previous years, Caitlin's perseverance has paid off and it's third time lucky for her.

Establishing herself as a first-team regular at Celtic Under-16s this season, she has proven her talent and tenacity, earning her well-deserved ‘call-up’ to the international set-up.

ALTAR Group is sponsoring Caitlin on her football journey and will cover her kit costs, travel and any other expenses associated with the Bob Docherty Cup, which kicks off at the 5,000-capacity Athlone Town Stadium on March 25th.

It’s a New Year and a new start for Blue2 as we welcome Aaron Hay as our latest recruit.

Aaron has joined us as a Junior Web Developer after completing a degree in computing at Abertay University. He has also worked as a research assistant at the University and compiled an impressive portfolio of work before joining us.

Aaron settled into his new role last week and is already feeling the love from the rest of his colleagues at Blue2 and ALTAR Group.

He said: “Everyone has been so friendly and helped me settle in very quickly. I feel very well supported and I’m looking forward to making an impact at Blue2.”
