I spent what was left of the afternoon sticking these lovely stickers, printed by ABOVE the BELOW, on these lovely Loadhog Ltd boxes. Now they’re ready to be delivered to more allotments that sign up to the Food Works Sheffield and scheme.

Did you know the scheme has intercepted and redistributed over a tonne of surplus food so far this growing season? And that’s in addition to the 500kg+ of food that’s been grown on the Food Works farm 😃

Are you ready for ?

With 2020 seeing so many events cancelled and charity shops closed due to the pandemic, charities are struggling to raise the funds they have come to rely on in previous years.

While 'face to face' donations have declined since March, online giving has been on the increase. And with November and December historically being the peak months for giving, is it time for one last push for cashless donations before the end of 2020?

Giving Tuesday takes place on 1st of December and is the perfect antidote to Black Friday and Cyber Monday and may be the boost charities needs to finish the year on a high.

Head over to www.givingtuesday.org.uk for more info about the event and if you're a charity and want a few tips on where to start then look no further than salesforce.org who have a handy Giving Tuesday check sheet to help you maximise your efforts --> https://lnkd.in/e7auMGg

I'm working on 'A Year in Review' for Moors for the Future and getting all fired up about about Sphagnum Moss. It's such amazing stuff. It soaks up 20 times its weight in water allowing healthy blanket bogs absorb more and reducing the likelihood and impact of flooding (yeah, important, right?).

Moors for the Future Partnership work to restore and maintain blanket bog across the Peak District and South Pennine moors.

If you're out and about in the High Peak you might catch sight of these banners for the Blythe House Hospicecare 2019 Jingle Bell Jog set to take place on the 1st of December.

Designed as part of a set of posters, flyers and banners using the Blythe House Hospicecare logo, typeface and design guidelines.

Did you know that today is World Cities Day?

I recently worked on a report for Realising Just Cities a programme of research and action aimed at supporting progressive social, economic and environmental change in the North of England. The report is an overview of their activity between 2016-19.

I LOVE a project which has community at its heart and if you chuck in more accessible, greener and fairer cities as well as valuing citizens' knowledge, then I'm in heaven!

Have a read of the whole document here: https://realisingjustcities-rjc.org/reports-and-briefings

One of the projects I've been working on recently is the ASSIST Sheffield 2018-19 Annual Review. It focuses on ASSIST as a welcoming community and is brought to life by a paper aeroplane which weaves its way from the opening pages to the end of the booklet highlighting key information as it goes.

It's difficult to imagine why an asylum seeker ends up in the UK looking for help so hearing a story first hand really brings it home why people travel across the world looking for sanctuary. Sadly some of those who are most in need are refused asylum. That's where ASSIST Sheffield step in.

ASSIST have produced a video to shine a light on the destitution faced by refused asylum seekers in the UK.
