I had the pleasure of welcoming two clients to my studio on Saturday, who had been bought gift vouchers for colour consultations for their birthdays. Both thoroughly enjoyed discovering their perfect palette of colours, one in a Full Colour Consultation and the other in my Express Colour Consultation.

I sell gift vouchers for all of the consultations and services detailed on my website. Gift vouchers start from £20 and are valid for twelve months from the date of giving. My gift vouchers are the perfect gift for birthdays, Christmas or as a special thank you present for a family member, friend, teacher or work colleague.

We often see September as a refresh; back from the summer holidays with teachers and children going back to school, our young adults off to university, back at work or gaining some much needed ‘me time’ in between running errands and household chores. The fashion world often has it’s own refresh, with new Autumn/Winter collections filling the shops. My newsletter for September is now available and this month focuses on navigating your way through September with the changing seasons stylishly and effortlessly.

Please do get in touch if you would like to receive a copy of my newsletter and I will add you to my mailing list.

💜⭐️ Summer Wardrobe Edit ⭐️💜

As we approach September and with the weather starting to turn cooler, now is the ideal time to give your summer wardrobe a good edit, while it is still fresh in your memory which clothes you have worn.

Start by having a good look at which summer clothes you have worn. These can stay. Remember to do any mending that needs to be done such as sewing buttons on and make sure they are clean as you put them back in your wardrobe.

Now have an honest look at the clothes you haven't worn and why. Maybe the colour is quite right for your colour palette? Maybe the style doesn't quite suit your style personality or current lifestyle? Consider selling these as preloved items on Vinted or in a preloved boutique or donating to charity to become someone else's much loved item of clothing.

At the end of your summer wardrobe edit, you will be left with an organised summer wardrobe ready for next year.

I enjoyed another fantastic weekend in Pembrokeshire visiting Tenby and St. David’s. The Cathedral was beautiful and views of the Pembrokeshire coastline simply stunning.

You may have noticed the weather starting to change with temperatures cooling and some much needed rain. If you are anything like me, you will be wanting to hang onto summer but ensure you can navigate the changing temperatures stylishly. It can be challenging navigating the changing season, particularly when the weather can range from beautiful late summer sunshine to damp, overcast, rainy and windy days.

My top tip is to opt for clothing in good quality natural fabrics such as cotton, Lenzing ecovero viscose and linen that are more breathable than synthetic fabrics such as polyester and then use layering. A cotton T shirt, blouse or shirt combined with a lightweight tank top or cardigan is ideal so you can change your outfit easily to adapt to changing temperatures.

If you are wanting to hang onto your summer outfits, try combining a summer or lightweight autumn dress with a lightweight cardigan, boucle jacket or blazer.

Do you know your best denim?

Of course, if you’re wearing it from the waist down, does the colour really matter? Well… kind of.

If you’re a Light and wearing a lovely, delicate pastel pink blouse, a deep indigo denim might feel a little too bottom-heavy. A light to mid-wash denim could create a softer, more balanced look instead.

So, when you’re buying a new pair of jeans, do you consider the colour of your denim as well as the style and fit?

I enjoyed a fantastic day trip to Caldey Island, just a 20 minute boat ride from Tenby in Pembrokeshire. If you have never visited Caldey Island, I can highly recommend spending a day there - it is such a beautiful and peaceful island with breathtaking views of the Pembrokeshire coastline. And the Chocolate Factory is always worth a visit for chocolate and fudge made on the island!

Let's talk size...

When buying new clothes, it isn't about the size but so much more about the fit. When choosing new clothes, choosing a size that fits well is so much more important as we will look comfortable and feel confident. A well fitting garment will hang well, with no seams, buttons or pockets pulling, gaping or straining. This many mean that you need to choose a size up to normal, and this is completely fine. You will enjoy wearing that item of clothing much more when it fits well and you feel completely comfortable wearing it.

And it isn't just about the size label. In my Style Consultations, we look at clothing (including styles, patterns and fabrics) to suit your height, scale and proportions as well as body shape. Armed with this knowledge, you can feel completely confident choosing the styles of clothing that suit you perfectly. A personalised Style Workbook is included in your Style Consultation for you to take away and refer to time and time again. No more guessing - rather carefully considered choices that work for you time and time again.

I recently returned from a fantastic cruise around the Western Mediterranean on board Sky Princess.

Having time off work has been so refreshing and I enjoyed so much about the cruise: quality time with family, fascinating and beautiful ports of call including Cadiz, Barcelona, Toulon in Provence, Pisa, Rome and Corsica. Visiting The Vatican and other historical sights in Rome was the highlight of the cruise!

The food was delicious and I loved having the opportunity to wear my favourite summer dresses for the evenings; my preferred style being smart casual with three formal nights. But the great thing about a cruise is that you can dress up for evenings as much as you like.

The entertainment on board was fantastic from operas singers, West End singer, shows to jugglers and I had the privilege of seeing some incredibly talented performers including multi instrumentalist and vocalist Janice Martin, West End singer Matthew Croke and juggler David Severins. This really satisfied my musical and creative flair.
