Facebook Watch is bringing an interactive element to it's video offering with live quiz capabilities. Watch's new show, MTV Stax, will give viewers 10 pop culture questions to answer with the chance to win a cash prize. If the show is successful it could create higher demand for interactive video content, potentially changing the way people consume video online.

MTV UK is working with Facebook Watch to deliver a live social quiz show called MTV Stax.

Facebook turned 15 earlier this week! 🎉While there have been many ups and downs over the last 15 years, Facebook's continued user growth worldwide suggests there's still a bright future ahead for the company that originally started out as a Harvard university project.

Speaking about just Facebook, there are now over 2.5 billion people around the globe, who have access to at least one of the apps/sites owned by Facebook (including WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger).

Facebook is currently rolling out Watch globally with the service recently launching in the UK, shortly to be followed by at least 21 new countries worldwide. This is expected to be followed by the introduction of TV-Style 'ad breaks' for videos viewed on Watch.

Facebook Watch, the social network’s TV-style service, has gone global. Following an initial launch in the US one year ago the spin-off video platform will be available “everywhere” and Facebook is now courting brands to funnel ad spend its way.

Snapchat are now looking likely to introduce a visual search tool which will allows users to find and buy products that they take a photo of on Amazon. This could potentially be a very lucrative revenue stream for Snapchat in the not too distant future.

Shopping and Snapchat could soon be synonymous. As originally reported by TechCrunch, the popular social media platform is experimenting with a new visual search feature called "Eagle." App researcher Ishan Agarwal was the first to notice the Snapchat code in the Android version of the app.

As we see a drift towards greater use of Instagram Stories, Instagram is responding by further developing Stories functionality. Recently adding in Q&As, Instagram's Stories now involve much more two-way interaction than simple polls. It's an appealing addition if you often want to hear back from your Instagram audience.

And for Instagram, the appeal is self-evident: it encourages Story creators to post more often knowing they'll get responses.

Facebook's video streaming platform Watch (only available in the US currently) is now moving away from entertainment in the direction of news publishers. After a lack of success on the platform in the entertainment arena so far it will be interesting to see how they fare with content dedicated to news.

Facebook Watch is partnering with a slew of news publishers to create content produced exclusively for the platform.
