Friday business update (aka, what the hell are we up to?).

Things are getting busier so here are some highlights.

➡️ We are currently engaged on two separate Tier 1 construction tenders with one about to complete and the other completing in two weeks.

➡️ Awaiting documents for a Bid Review in the environmental sector.

➡️ I will be presenting a Nuclear Standard Bid Writing workshop on behalf of Nuclear PSG for the Suffolk Supply Chain in mid-May.

➡️ A construction tender project for a local southwest company.

➡️ And, a large environmental tender project in East London.

Phew...

I just had a phone call from a very happy client saying that our tender was successful. He said the evaluator of this tender by a multinational supplier of lifting equipment stated that our submission was simply the best one! This is also a fantastic example of two members of our local Chamber of Commerce working together to achieve a really great win - plus this training tender was a must-win for my client.

I'm very pleased for them, and love days like this!

I’m on an early train to Cardiff this morning for an all day meeting with a Tier 1 construction client. It’s a beautiful Spring day with the early golden sunlight feeling its way across the landscape.

There’s nothing like meeting in person with subject matter experts, discussing the tender approach around the table, and coming away with confidence to build compelling responses leading to a great outcome for the client. Looking forward to it.

I'm starting work on a major water utility bid this morning. It feels like home.

Whilst working on bids in healthcare, nuclear, hygiene, training, highways, roofing, residential and commercial, and others, it's easy to forget that I started working on tenders in the back end of AMP5 in the UK water industry (We're now in AMP8). That was after I'd moved away from London and completely changed career.

With every project I set out on for an existing and new client, I know that I'm going to learn something new. Even with this new water sector tender, I look forward to learning new things. Anyway, a good time to reflect, and to trot out this banner below once again...

I'm currently working on a major corporate bid within a team of talented bid writers and specialist support staff. It's great to experience others' approaches and systems that are different to my own, but with the same outcomes.

Bringing this experience back to our SME clients, associate bid teams, and workshop attendees means that BBM is always up to date with the latest innovations. Continuous improvement is a Quality Standards mantra that we strive to align with in our work to help our clients win more bids.

The beginning of the year was a little quiet and we recently completed bids in the Hygiene, Environmental and Training sectors. Now on this large construction bid and with environmental and other construction tenders, plus a major water tender; and workshops booked in, it's going to be a busy Spring and Summer.

The sun is out and things are warming up nicely. Who doesn't love that!

BBM, Nuclear PSG and the Sizewell C Supply Chain - what a combination!

Very pleased to confirm that I will be presenting a Bidding in Nuclear workshop in collaboration with Nuclear PSG, for the Sizewell C Supply Chain. The date is the 20th of May in Ipswich.

Based on our success of supporting a major winning bid at Hinkley Point C, where BBM led a team of experienced bid writers, we will look at how to win tenders for construction, engineering, environmental and other supply chain aspiring to win work packages at Sizewell C, and other major projects.

Major Water Sector News!

Thames Water has launched a £5.7 billion tender notice for its proposed White Horse Reservoir in Oxfordshire.

The 150 billion litre reservoir represents the largest water infrastructure investment in a generation, providing up to 271 megalitres of water per day during drought (equivalent to around three million baths). It’s one of nine new reservoirs earmarked to provide water security for the UK in terms of house building, economic growth and resilience against climate change.

The company is seeking a Main Works Contractor to design, build, test and commission the new White Horse Reservoir south west of Abingdon. Water will be supplied locally in Oxfordshire and Wiltshire, through to Hampshire and London.

This is worth watching for Tier 2 & 3 civils, MEICA, and environmental contract opportunities in the wider region. We have 12+ years' experience of winning single source and framework tenders in the UK water industry with Thames Water (eight2o/TWUL) and nine other water companies:
