I overheard her congratulating a customer whose wife had given birth to a baby boy during my most recent visit to her store.

I enjoy shopping at her store.

Her smile is contagious in the shop.

When I have time after shopping, we talk about food, drinks, trendy subjects, and so on.

But there is one thing I've observed she isn't doing or rather not exploiting.

She does not ask her existing customers to recommend her business to their friends, siblings, extended family members, neighbours, colleagues, forums, and so on.

Are you a business owner that does not capitalize on loyal clients by asking them to refer others to you?

This is because your existing customer already has a relationship with these people.

My friend Margaret told me about Betty, a lady who sells high-quality household products at reasonable costs.

Margaret enjoys buying from Betty because of her extraordinary eye for selling a variety of household products, and not just because she is a friend.

Margaret encouraged Betty to market her business on social media, which she did.

Then Betty made her first sale, she could not contain her excitement and told everyone she knew. Margaret was equally excited for her.

Betty continued to make sales online for a few months.

However, there was one problem...
