A simple way to tell if your website is holding you back (takes 20 seconds)

If you run a local service business, try this:

Go to your website and ask yourself:

Can I clearly see:
• what services you offer
• which towns you cover
• and a page for each?

If the answer is “not really” — that’s usually the issue.

Most of the sites I review across Cheshire don’t have a clear structure for:
– individual services
– individual locations
– and how those pages link together

So when someone searches:
“builder in Wilmslow”
“driveways in Handforth”

Google isn’t confident showing them — even if they’re a great business.

The fix is often simpler than people think. It’s not about more content. It’s about making your services and locations obvious — to both Google and your customers.

If you want, message me and I’ll tell you the first thing I’d change on your site.

No pitch. Just clarity.

This week I reviewed a handful of local service business websites across Cheshire.

Different trades. Different towns. But the same issue kept coming up.

The website clearly showed what they do…but not clearly where they do it.

So when someone searches:
“builder in Knutsford”
“driveways in Wilmslow”
“landscaper near me”

Google hesitates.

Because it can’t confidently match the business to the location.

That’s usually the difference between:
• showing up consistently
• or barely appearing outside your base town

It’s not about having a “better” business.

It’s about making it easier for Google to understand:
– your services
– your service areas
– and how your pages connect

Most of the time, it’s a structural fix — not a full rebuild.

If you run a local service business and feel like you should be getting more enquiries from nearby towns, message me.

I’ll tell you the first thing I’d fix.

A quick SEO insight for local service businesses in Cheshire.

When someone searches on Google for something like:

“builder in Warrington”
“driveways Wilmslow”
“landscaper near me”

Google usually doesn’t rank websites.

It ranks individual pages.

So if your website has:

• one page listing all services
• no pages targeting specific towns
• or pages that aren’t clearly linked together

Google struggles to understand where you want to appear.

That’s why some excellent businesses barely show outside their base town.

It’s not always about more content — often it’s about clear structure.

If you’d like me to take a quick look at your site and point out the first structural issue I see, just send me a message.

No pitch. Just clarity.

Most Cheshire service businesses aren’t invisible because of competition.

They’re invisible because Google isn’t fully clear on:

• What they actually specialise in
• Which towns they want to appear in
• Which pages matter most

I reviewed 3 local sites this week.

All 3 had the same structural issue that limits how often they show outside their base town.

It’s not a rebuild.
It’s alignment.

If you run a local service business and feel like you should be appearing more often in nearby towns, direct message me.

I’ll tell you the first thing I’d fix.

No pitch. Just clarity.

Quick follow-up to my post last week about reviewing local business websites.
Even without a full audit, there are usually 1–2 structural issues that quietly limit visibility.

Common ones I see when looking at Cheshire service businesses:
• No clear H1 targeting the main service + town
• Multiple services crammed onto one page
• Location pages that don’t add real value
• Important pages not internally linked

They’re not huge rebuilds, just alignment tweaks.

If you’d like me to take a quick look at your site and tell you the first thing I’d fix, message me.

Still no sales pitch — just clarity.

If you run a service business in Cheshire and feel like your website isn’t bringing in as many enquiries as it could — or you’re not showing up on Google as consistently as you’d like — I’m offering something a little different this week.

I’m reviewing a handful of local business websites and pointing out one simple change that could improve their visibility.

No jargon. No long audit. No sales pitch.

If you’d like me to take a look at yours, send me a private message, email [email protected], or use the contact form on my website - www.clicksnappy.co.uk

I’ll tell you the first thing I’d fix if it were my site.

Today’s quick win:
Make sure every page on your website has a clear, benefit‑driven headline at the top.

Most local websites open with something vague like “Welcome to our website” - but people decide in seconds whether you can help them. A clear headline that says what you do and who you help instantly increases trust and keeps visitors on the page.

For example:
“Plumbing repairs and boiler servicing across Cheshire - fast, reliable, and affordable.”

A strong headline helps both Google and your customers understand your business straight away.
