We love working in the education sector.đŸ€©

Not because it’s easy (it’s not).❌

Not because it’s quiet (it definitely isn’t).❌

But because it actually matters.✅

You’re dealing with real people, real communities, and decisions that have a genuine impact - which means the comms have to be right.

Clear. Considered. No waffle. No spin.

👉Whether it’s celebrating success, handling sensitive situations, or just helping schools say what they mean properly - it’s work that feels worthwhile.

And that’s not something every sector can offer.

Moving house is chaos - as Ellen Widdup and Bea Widdup discovered this week!

Boxes everywhere.📩

Nothing where it should be.

You think you’re organised
 until you’re not.đŸ˜”â€đŸ’«

Communication in a business isn’t that different.

When everything’s in the right place, it feels easy.

When it’s not, you notice it immediately.

Messages get lost.

Things get duplicated.

People can’t find what they need.

A good comms structure does what a good house does:
🟠Everything has a place.
🟠Everything is easy to find.
🟠And it actually works for the people living in it.

If your comms feel like a house mid-move
 it’s probably time to reorganise.

Big news at Satsuma.

Gemma Kent has been promoted to Account Director - and if you’ve worked with us, that will come as absolutely no surprise.

She’s been quietly (and sometimes not so quietly) keeping clients happy, projects moving and the rest of us in check for a long time now.

Smart, calm under pressure, and brilliant with clients - exactly what you want in an Account Director.

Very well deserved 👏

Want to play LinkedIn Bingo?😆

Scroll the platform for five minutes and get a point for every time you see:

‱ “I’m humbled to announce
”

‱ “After much reflection
”

‱ “So proud of this amazing team”

‱ “Honoured to speak at
”

‱ “Grateful for the opportunity
”

‱ “My journey has taught me
”

Bonus 10 points for:
Someone posts a photo of an airport lounge and calls it “a new chapter.”

How many did you get?

Every communications team has these characters.

The person who spots a typo instantly - but only after its been published.🧐

The person who says “one small tweak” and then rewrites the whole thing.đŸ„Č

The person who says “we're just having a quick call” and somehow is still there 2 hours later.đŸ«Ł

The person who spots the crisis before anyone else notices it’s a problem.😳

The one who can make a graphic in five minutes but spends 40 minutes choosing the right shade of blue.đŸ€”

The person who keeps a running list of the team’s accidental comedy moments.đŸ€Ș

PR teams are a strange but wonderful mix of editors, storytellers, detectives and therapists.

Which one are you?

21 March 2006 was the day Twitter was born.

And 20 years later (and one rebrand to X), it’s still
 not our favourite platform.

Hot take?đŸ”„đŸ˜Ź

It’s noisy. Reactive. Short-fused.

And for most of our clients, it’s rarely where real brand building happens.

We love thoughtful storytelling. Strategic content. Community. Depth.

And honestly, for most brands? There are better places to spend your time.

Happy 20th, Twitter. We respect the legacy.đŸ«Ą

But we’ll be over here building something a little more meaningful.

🔮Comic Relief has launched its Red Nose Day 2026 film ahead of the big day on March 20th - a 60-second spot featuring Joe Marler, Jill Scott and Tia Kofi, built around a very British truth: we’re quite good at laughing at ourselves if it helps someone else.

The film is running across the BBC and social, and it leans into humour, self-deprecation and shared cultural shorthand to remind people what Red Nose Day is really about - using laughter to raise life-changing funds for food, shelter and safety.

Reputationally, this is smart charity comms.💡

It doesn’t guilt-trip.

It doesn’t over-solemnise.

It anchors purpose in something the audience already recognises about themselves.

We are absolutely thrilled for them both.

Kayley brings so much warmth, calm and brilliance to Satsuma - and we know she’s going to bring all of that (and more) to motherhood.

Welcome to the world, Oakley.

You’re already part of the Satsuma family.

Satsuma. Built by women. Led by women. Powered by women.đŸ’Ș

This International Women’s Day, we’re celebrating the brilliant women behind Satsuma:

Gemma Kent
Clare O'Keefe
Bea Widdup
Lisa Smith
Kayley Flatt
Ellen Widdup

Different strengths. Different styles. Different life stages. All bloody brilliant.

We challenge each other.

We support each other.

We juggle work, families, ambition, deadlines, school runs, strategy decks and site visits.
And we show up - every single day.

Being an all-female team wasn’t a strategy.

It just happened because we hire brilliant people.

đŸ’«Today we’re celebrating the talent, resilience and leadership of women - in our agency and across every sector we work in.

Here’s to building businesses, backing each other and taking up space.

✹Today we’re celebrating three brilliant years of Kayley Flatt and Gemma Kent at Satsuma - our resident digital dynamos who bring creativity, calm heads and serious social media know-how to the team.

Between them they’ve designed more graphics than Canva can probably count, scheduled approximately 9.4 million social posts, spotted typos before the rest of us even knew they existed, and somehow kept multiple client channels looking slick, strategic and on brand.

They’re the people who turn “quick idea” into polished content, make algorithms behave (mostly), and keep our clients looking very good online.

But more importantly, they’re lovely humans to have in the mix - bringing humour, creativity and the occasional dose of “maybe we shouldn’t post that” wisdom.

Kayley and Gemma, we’re very lucky to have you both as part of Team Satsuma.

Here’s to three brilliant years - and many more posts, graphics, reels and mildly chaotic content planning meetings to come.

Greggs has launched a pop-up Pilates studio to promote its new matcha range - complete with free classes, free matcha
and a free sausage roll at the end.đŸ§‹đŸ„–

On paper, “wellness and pastry” sounds like a punchline. In practice, it works because it mirrors how people actually live - go to Pilates, then immediately justify a snack.

That’s the reputational strength here.

Greggs isn’t pretending its customers exist in neat lifestyle siloes.

It understands that real life is contradictory - clean eating one minute, comfort food the next.

The strongest brands don’t try to sanitise that reality.

They design campaigns that fit around it.
