Something’s been happening in my business over the last few months, and I think it’s worth sharing.

A growing proportion of the enquiries I receive through my website say they found me through AI platforms such as ChatGPT. And what’s more, they tend to be really well-matched clients—the kinds of creative and wellness businesses I love working with, looking for exactly the sort of help I offer.

Google is still enormously important, but people aren’t always working their way through those familiar blue links anymore. They might find what they need in an AI-generated summary or go directly to ChatGPT and describe, in quite a lot of detail, exactly who and what they’re looking for.

So your online presence needs to do a couple of things really well.

Your own website needs to be crystal clear about what you do, who you help and why you’re good at it. Strong SEO foundations, genuinely useful content and real examples of your work are all hugely important.

But what exists beyond your website matters too. Where else does your business appear? Are there trusted profiles, articles, features, client work or genuine recommendations that support what you say about yourself?

All these different pieces help to build a fuller, more credible picture of your business and make it easier for both people and AI search to understand why you might be the right person to recommend.

It’s about being clear, useful and visible in all the right places for the people you most want to reach.

So, I’ve shared some practical ideas to help you look at your own online presence—and make it easier for your ideal clients to find you through AI search. ✨

✨ Website in a Week - Client Launch ✨

Last week’s Website in a Week client was Karina Davis Counselling 🤍

Karina wanted a website that felt calming, friendly and trustworthy - so potential clients feel welcomed and reassured from the moment they arrive.

We went with a soft, grounded palette and carefully chosen stock imagery to complement the design and reflect the nature of her work.

Her 5-page site kicked off on Monday and wrapped up on Friday, so she’s now ready to launch and start promoting her new counselling practice with confidence.

These are some of my favourite projects to work on. We collaborate closely over one dedicated week, which means no long, drawn-out timelines or endless back and forth. It’s a really focused, supportive way to create a website, and I love the results it produces.

If you’re in the wellness space or run a boutique small business and need a website, feel free to message me to book a free discovery call.

I’m currently booking March and April 🌿

The other day, I took a moment to read through some of my Google reviews, and what really struck me wasn’t just the kind words, but a pattern running through them.

A few people talked about how I understood what they were trying to achieve, even when their ideas were still a little fuzzy. How I could take an initial thought, ask the right questions, sometimes gently challenge the brief, and help shape something they hadn’t quite imagined yet, but ended up feeling really delighted by.

Reading that made me pause, because that’s exactly how I believe good web design should work.

It reminded me of when I renovated my house years ago.

My living room had an old wooden floor that I didn’t love, so I decided to carpet over it. I hired a fitter, the carpet went down - all seemed fine.

But a week later, I started noticing the lines of the wooden boards showing through the carpet underneath. It really bothered me. Instead of a smooth, cosy carpet, I had ridges everywhere.

And for someone with borderline OCD tendencies, this was only ever going to end one way... removing all the furniture, taking up the carpet and underlay, ripping up the floorboards, and laying a proper solid base.

What stayed with me wasn't just the frustration - it was the realisation that I didn't know what I didn't know. And the fitter who laid it? He hadn't said anything.

Looking back, years of experience should have told him this was a terrible base for a smooth carpet - something he could have mentioned to save me a whole lot of hassle!

That moment has always stuck with me.

Because whether it’s floors or websites, hiring an expert isn’t just about carrying out instructions. It’s about understanding the bigger picture, the end goal - and having the care and confidence to say sometimes, "here’s what I’d suggest".

That's what separates good web design from just... design.

A website isn't just a pretty online thing. It's structure, strategy, messaging and positioning - and it's the thinking underneath that makes the difference. ✨

Are you ever thinking, my homepage isn’t quite right… but I can’t put my finger on why?

Is it converting? Are people actually getting in touch?

Most people land on a homepage with a mix of curiosity and uncertainty. Sometimes they’re just looking around. Other times they’re closer to making a decision. Either way, they’re trying to work things out quickly - who you are, what you offer, and whether this feels like a good fit.

When a homepage makes that easy, people tend to relax. Clear information, visible experience, and a few reassuring signals help someone feel they’re in safe hands. And from there, getting in touch feels much easier.

As we move into 2026, your digital presence needs to quietly show that you know what you’re doing - that you’ve got the experience and skills to deliver, and that you’re someone people can feel comfortable choosing.

What’s reassuring is that these same things matter from an SEO point of view too. When your homepage works well for people, it usually works better for search too.

I can’t believe I never shared this one on the grid… Back in the summer I designed a new website for and it was such a fun project to work on ✨

David’s images are bursting with colour, energy and the most beautiful Scottish backdrops 🌿

The branding (by the lovely Melissa Love ) gave me a chance to play with a brighter palette than I’d usually use and it turned out to be the perfect fit for his work.

✨ What’s the point of a beautiful website if no one can find it?

That’s the difference that turns a pretty site into one that actually brings in clients.

Here are a few lovely client wins I’m celebrating:

→ With her new site and advanced SEO, she’s now #1 for “Editorial Wedding Photographer London” and #3 for “Editorial Wedding Photographer.”

→ From page 6 (!!) all the way to #2 for “Suffolk Wedding Photography” and top 4 for “Suffolk Wedding Photographer” after her full redesign with SEO

→ I didn’t design their site, but with my SEO strategy and optimisation support, they’re now showing at #2 for “Suffolk Wedding Venue” (just behind Hitched) and seeing higher levels of website traffic.

And it’s not just Google anymore… my clients are also showing up in AI snippets and ChatGPT answers, which means they’re being discovered in even more of the places people are searching today.

That’s why my Squarespace Website with Pro SEO package includes:

• Keyword strategy to find the sweet spot
• Competitor analysis to see where you can stand out
• Advanced on-page optimisation with off-page SEO recommendations

I’ve got a couple of spaces in November and December - the perfect timing if you’d love to launch a fresh, optimised website in the new year. 🤍

And if you already have a Squarespace website designed elsewhere, I can still help with SEO strategy and optimisation to give your site the best chance of being found.

A week into September and I’m wondering… how did summer fly by so fast?

Which means if there’s something you’ve been meaning to do in your business before the year is out, this is the window to make it happen.

If 'new website' has been sitting on your list for a while, you probably know how it goes. You want it done, but life gets busy. Client work. Family. A million little things. And before you know it, another year has passed and you’re still trying to make do with the old site that doesn’t really fit anymore.

Here’s the thing. A website takes time. Writing your copy, gathering images, maybe even booking a brand shoot. Getting prepared takes a few weeks, and giving yourself that space makes the whole process feel calmer. Which is why now is the time to start getting organised if you want to launch before the year is out.

If that sounds like you, I’ve opened 2 spots for November for creative solopreneurs and wellness pros who want a digital home that feels elegant, calm, and ready to welcome the right clients in.

Does that sound like you? Let’s chat 🤍

Thank you so much for your kind words, ...

‘"I honestly couldn't be happier with my new website, and that's all thanks to Clare. She completely understood my vision from the very beginning and brought it to life with such ease and confidence.

She instinctively knew what worked, from the image choices to the fonts and colour palette. I trusted her eye completely, and I’m so glad I did. My work finally feels beautifully and professionally showcased, and I’m genuinely proud every time I look at my site."

🤍 It was such a pleasure working with you and creating a space for your beautiful photography.
