📸 A picture really does paint a thousand words.

When it comes to PR, the images you send can be the difference between securing coverage and being ignored. In fact, journalists often look at the visuals before they read the story.

Strong, creative images don’t just support your PR, they help sell it. They can turn a small mention into a feature, cover story, or double-page spread.

That’s why we’d love you to join us for Picture Perfect PR, our live online masterclass on 1st July with PR experts Linda and myself, alongside journalist Alex Lloyd and photographer David Harrison.

We’ll reveal:
What editors and journalists want from images in 2026
Common photo mistakes that can kill a story
How to create PR-friendly images that grab attention
How great visuals can help secure bigger media coverage

Plus insider journalism and photography tips, editorial insights, and real examples of images that elevate a story.

Perfect for business owners, freelancers, photographers and PR professionals.

After a short break in Norwich, long walks on the beach, and a new appreciation for walled gardens my attention turned to my four-legged friends. Is there anything we wouldn’t do for them?

If you want to understand great PR, spend some time with a dog! Dogs don’t build trust by making the loudest noise, well not all of them. They build it through consistency, reliability, and showing up every single day.

The same is true for businesses: one good headline won’t create a reputation, one viral moment won’t guarantee loyalty, but the small interactions, honest communication, and genuine relationships are what people remember.

A dog’s tail doesn’t wag because it’s trying to impress you. It wags because the connection is real 🐕

PR is about authenticity that travels further than attention.

So my Friday PR thought for the week is build trust, stay loyal to your brand, always celebrate the wins, and don’t bark unless you have something worth saying!

If you'd like to chat about your PR strategy and getting your story into the national press, I'd love to hear from you ✪

Month six of 2026! How has that happened? I’m starting June with a question!

Does your business invest in marketing and sales? Many do but often overlook one of the most powerful growth drivers, Public Relations.

PR isn’t just about media coverage, it’s about building credibility, trust, and visibility.

While advertising tells people how wonderful your business is, PR allows others to tell that story for you, which can sometimes be much easier than doing it yourself. A feature in a respected publication, an industry award, an interesting article, or expert commentary can create a level of trust that paid advertising simply can’t buy.

Strong PR could help your business:

◎ Build brand authority
◎ Increase customer trust
◎ Support recruitment
◎ Create long-term brand awareness

The most successful brands understand that reputation is one of their most valuable assets. PR helps shape that reputation and ensures your business is part of the conversations that matter.

In a crowded market, being seen is important but being trusted is what truly drives growth.

If you would like to chat about how your business could use PR to build credibility and create opportunities, I would love to hear from you.

I recently talked about attending an event taking a moment, getting out, appreciating nature and completing a fire walk. If I’m honest I can’t stop thinking about it! We were promised an uplifting and empowering day, and it prepared us to do something extraordinary, and it did not disappoint.

I had never done anything like this before and it really did light a fire in me. Before attending I felt a little anxious which I expected, but I didn’t have anything to worry about as helped me to face my fears and step forward with courage and intention across the fire. The feelings will definitely stay with me for a long time, along with the glow!

If you fancy giving it a try, Rachel is hosting a charity fire walk in support of a 500-year-old village church in June. Aughton Church dates back over 500 years, it’s a place of community, history and belonging and it needs support to raise vital funds for extensive repair work.

Taking place at Dales Farm in Ellerton, East Yorkshire, you will have the opportunity to walk on fire and experience something quite remarkable.

📍9 Dales Farm, Main Street, Ellerton
⏰Saturday, June 6th 6 PM - 9:30 PM

♡ Book your ticket on Eventbrite, and I would love to know if you face your fear and find the courage!

Are you winding down for the long weekend?

I know running a business can sometimes feel a little relentless, deadlines and constant decision making, it’s easy to forget to step away and recharge, I feel it’s so important to do this and essential for creative thinking.

Last weekend was a reminder of how important that reset really is, getting outdoors, away from screens and noise, does more for your mindset than we often realise. I chose fresh air, movement, challenge, with a side of perspective!

I completed a fire 🔥 walk, something completely outside my comfort zone. It wasn’t just about walking across hot coals; it was about mindset, resilience, and proving how much we can achieve when we push past fear and selt-doubt.

As business owners, we spend so much time focusing on growth, performance and results, but protecting our mental wellbeing is just as important. Sometimes the best ideas, clarity and energy come when you step away from the desk and take a moment for yourself.

I would love to hear how you reset, and what you do for fun! and I hope this will remind you to give yourself permission to take the break, get outside, challenge yourself and reset, your business will definitely thank you for it.

A new project, perks of the job and a brand new view, in hospitality PR, perception is everything.
A beautifully designed hotel, an incredible restaurant menu, or exceptional guest service can only go so far if people don’t know about it.

That’s where PR makes the difference, strategic PR helps hospitality brands build credibility and trust, increases visibility in competitive markets, attracts new guests and loyal customers, whilst creating memorable brand stories and generating media coverage, can drive bookings and awareness
In an industry built on experiences, storytelling is one of the most powerful tools a brand can have. Great PR doesn’t just get attention, it creates emotional connections that keep customers coming back.
Whether it’s launching a new venue, promoting seasonal experiences, securing press coverage, or managing reputation, effective PR helps hospitality businesses stand out in all the right ways.

I had a wonderful time researching Lincoln, it has a York feel to it, on a slightly smaller scale but offers a variety of experiences, with a very different choice of visitor destination. The architecture of the Lincoln Cathedral, Medieval Walks around the Castle and an International Bomber Command Centre, which tells the story of Bomber Command.

With a stunning Memorial Spire, Peace Garden and Visitor Centre, there is a historical teel to all the streets here. Lincoln also has a wonderful array of Artisan producers, boutiques, gift shops, and celebrates historical and community life, it really is a City that keeps on giving.

Brands people talk about are the brands people remember, and I am looking forward to creating and sharing the PR stories that I researched during my time in Lincoln, I love working with hospitality clients!
