TEN (10) KEY POLICY ALTERNATIVES ANNOUNCED BY H.E JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA SO FAR:

If elected as President in the December 2020 Polls, President Mahama shall:

1. Pay all customers of collapsed financial institutions.

2. Scrap the 50% increment in the Communication Service Tax (Credit Tax) to ameliorate the hardships Ghanaians are facing.

3. Introduce Free TVET from secondary to tertiary level to reduce unemployment.

4. Abolish the double-track system of Senior High education.

5. Restore the distribution of free cocoa fertilizer and chemicals to cocoa farmers.

6. Cancel the needless licensure examination and mandatory National Service program for Teacher Trainees and restore automatic promotion for Teachers.

7. Build new regional hospitals and universities for each of the six (6) new regions

8. Reduce the size of government.

9. Complete the eastern corridor road and dualize Kasoa to Takoradi, Suhum to Kumasi, Tema to Aflao, roads.

10. Complete all abandoned projects such as schools, hospitals, roads etc.

John Mahama interacts with New Powmu community

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, John Dramani Mahama, on Sunday visited New Powmu/Tusker, a fishing community in the Asuogyaman Constituency for a community engagement programme.

Mr. Mahama interacted with households in the community, seizing the opportunity to educate them on how to stay safe and protect their families from the coronavirus.

He also presented some relief items including hand sanitizers, face masks and food packages to the people. The NDC leader also spent hours with fishermen in the community, discussing their challenges and expectations.

The fishermen and fish mongers mentioned securing outboard motors, the partisan supply of premix fuel, the need for a landing beach, and the lack of support for aquaculture in the area as some of their challenges.

The Road and Rail sectors of Ghana

Mahama used 2 Ministers to transform Ghana's road and rail sectors. They led the construction of several Major road projects including the Fufulso–Sawla road, the completion of the Awoshie-Pokuase highway, Kwame Nkrumah interchange and the Kasoa interchange. They secured funding for Pokuase Interchange, Tema motorway interchange and Obitsebi Lamptey interchange.

This two Ministers also led the construction of the Sekondi/Takoradi-Kojokrom suburban railway line with three terminals, secured $398.33million for the Tema-Akosombo rail project among others before exiting power.

When Akufo Addo came into office, he divided the Sector into 2: Ministry of Roads and Highways (1 Minister, 2 deputies), and the Rail Ministry (1 Minister, 2 deputies) = 6 Ministers. It's been 3½yrs sense they took over but they've not been able to add anything significant to the road and rail sectors.

Here again, Mahama used less to achieve more, but Akufo Addo is using more to achieve less. Bring back to do more...!
