If opportunities donโ€™t come, create one!

We often wait for the perfect job, the scholarship, the right connections, the right moments and the big break.
But what if waiting becomes a delay, not preparation?

Opportunities are beautiful when they come. But the truth is โ€” sometimes, they donโ€™t. And when they delay, the wait can feel endless and frustrating.

So, what do you do while waiting?

You build. You start. You create.

The world rewards initiators โ€” those who turn ideas into action and waiting seasons into working seasons.

That blog youโ€™ve been thinking about? Start it.
That podcast? Launch it.
That business idea? Test it.
That project? Begin.
That network you dream of joining? Build your own.

You donโ€™t need all the answers. You need a step.
You donโ€™t need permission. You need courage.
You donโ€™t need a seat at the table. You can build one.

Hereโ€™s the best part โ€” when you start creating your own opportunities, people begin to notice. And sometimes, the very doors you were waiting onโ€ฆ might just come knocking.

So hereโ€™s your reminder: Donโ€™t just wait for opportunities. Create one.

Yesterday, 20th September 2024, I successfully ended my tenure of office as the Head of the KNUST SRC Academic Board.

I would like to express my gratitude to the SRC President, Yvonne Osei Adobea for giving me the opportunity to serve as Head of the Students' Academic Board. To my deputies, Nennyi Abbeyquaye and Francisca Gyening, thank you for your unwavering support and dedication throughout our tenure.

I also extend my appreciation to the SRC Vice President, Nana Kwabena Osei, committee members for their hard work, the Directorate of Students Affairs and Management, and the KNUST E-LEARNING CENTRE for their valuable collaborations. To the entire student body, thank you for your trust.

To the next occupant of this role, I encourage you to lead with integrity, commitment, and a passion for academic excellence. The journey may be challenging, but the rewards of service are truly fulfilling. I am available for guidance and support for continued success.

Today, my heart is filled with gratitude and a deep sense of fulfillment. As I reflect on the journey from where I started to my time at KNUST, and now finally completing my four-year undergraduate studies, I can only sayโ€”itโ€™s been by the grace of God.

I am deeply appreciative of the love and support from my incredible support systemโ€”my family and friendsโ€”who have stood by me through it all. Thereโ€™s a long list of people to thank for believing in me and investing in my growth.

To the friends, colleagues, lecturers, TAs, and families Iโ€™ve met here at KNUST, I want to say thank you. Youโ€™ve made this journey an extraordinary one, filled with memories that will last a lifetime. I appreciate each and every one of you.

As this chapter closes, Iโ€™m excited about the new opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.

To everyone reading this, rememberโ€”with God, all things are possible! Keep the faith!

๐‘ซ๐’†๐’‚๐’“ ๐’€๐’๐’–๐’•๐’‰,

Today, I want to remind you how much I believe in us.

We are the architects of tomorrow, equipped with ideas that can spark change and the courage to pursue our dreams relentlessly.

Our ambition knows no bounds, and our focus is unwavering.

As we stand tall in our potential to lead, innovate, and shape a future that reflects our vision, itโ€™s essential that we also commit to developing ourselves, ensuring weโ€™re ready to lead with wisdom and purpose.

We are not just a generation waiting for our timeโ€”we are the present, driving progress and rewriting the story of our world.

Letโ€™s continue to believe in ourselves, hone our skills, and embrace the incredible power we possess to create lasting impact.

Together, we are the change we wish to see.

๐‘พ๐’‰๐’‚๐’•โ€™๐’” ๐’๐’†๐’™๐’•?

Very soon most of us in our final year will be finishing our undergraduate studies and the question that resonates in my mind is: Whatโ€™s next?

In the short term, there's the National Service Scheme (NSS), which I am confident most of us will secure. But looking beyond, the future unfolds with a myriad of possibilities for most of us: launching a career, pursuing further studies, exploring opportunities abroad, or even starting a business.

Itโ€™s exciting to realize that our four-year journey at the university is drawing to a close, yet it brings with it a whirlwind of uncertainties and questions about the road ahead. The future is a vast, uncharted territory, both thrilling and overwhelming in its uncertainty.

But amidst the haze, there is hope.

Whatever path we choose, let's continue to forge ahead with determination. Speak our dreams into existence and trust that, with perseverance, everything will fall into place. Our dreams are valid! Though they may seem distant now, remember: impossible is nothing.

Let's keep striving towards our goals and supporting each other along the way. In time, the dots will connect, and our aspirations will transform into success!

On Wednesday, July 31, 2024, I had the privilege of serving as the MC for the Environmental Sustainability Seminar organized by Green Wave Innovations. This event was part of a PR campaign focused on environmental sustainability at KNUST, serving as a capstone project for my colleagues Clinton Yeboah, Bernard Ohene Kofi Amoah, Irene Afriyie, Mercia Anderson Arthur and Michael Kaba, who are final year Media and Communications Studies students (Public Relations option) at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi.

Under the theme "A Sustainable Future for All: A Greener and Cleaner KNUST for Posterity," the seminar aimed to sensitize students on the importance of adopting sustainable practices and becoming champions of environmental sustainability.

We were honored to have insightful presentations from distinguished speakers. Mad. Anita Akua Kyerewa Kuma, Assistant Registrar of the University Relations Office, KNUST, highlighted the university's sustainability efforts, while Nana Kwadwo Jantuah, a broadcast journalist at Multimedia Ghana and General Manager of Focus FM, delivered a powerful keynote address.

Being the MC allowed me to showcase my moderating skills and engage in vital conversations on sustainability. It was an enriching experience that deepened my understanding of environmental issues and connected me with passionate advocates for change.

I look forward to participating in more events like this and joining forces with those committed to championing sustainability.
