In Ghana, SMEs account for 92% of all businesses in the country. However, 40% of all SMEs go out of business within the first 5 years of their establishment. There are a lot of factors that come together to cause this but the most common reason is lack of capital.
However, this common problem can be eliminated, if a starting small business can increase their customer base to at least break even or get some profit after their expenses for a certain period.
