A circulating letter addressed to the Regional Sports Committee, signed by Louie Mendy on behalf of the Commanding Officer of the 3 Infantry Battalion, indicates that the Combine Security Football Club has withdrawn from the 2026 Basse Subzone Nawetan and has also ceased its security coverage of the games, effective immediately.

This recent development follows controversy involving the Combine Security Forces FC during their round of 16 match against Rising Stars FC, which has ignited a national debate over a goal controversy in that encounter.

Breaking news! The stolen phones from the Manju players and staff at the Basse mini stadium have seen some progress. Three phones have been recovered by the police.

This happened after a thief, who tried to steal Mr. Famara Jabbie's motorcycle early this morning around 4:00 AM, was caught red-handed by Mr. Jabbie himself. He was then handed over to the Basse police patrol team, Upon searching the apprehended thief, two iPhones were recovered from him.

He is currently cooperating with the police, assisting them in recovering the remaining phones. We'll be sure to keep you updated as the investigation continues. A huge thank you goes out to Mr. Jabbie and the police for their swift and effective response. Let's all continue to stay vigilant.

Super Star Majesty completed a stunning comeback on Sunday, recovering from a 2–0 deficit to 2-2 draw and defeat Allunhari River Fish 4–2 on post-match penalties and secure a place in the Basse Subzone Nawetan quarter-finals.

Abdou Salam Dukureh opened the scoring in the 14th minute before Musa Jaiteh doubled the lead two minutes later, but Salieu Jallow pulled one back before the break.

Kabiro Sanneh restored parity in the 81st minute to force the game into a penalty shootout. Super Star Majesty goalkeeper Abdoulie Touray then produced a decisive performance, saving two spot-kicks to send his team through to the quarter-finals. 📸 Sjag Urr Chapter

One of the most grateful moments of my journey as a sports journalist came at the Brikama Boxba Mini Stadium. I was there not just to watch, but to analyze, to tell the story as it unfolded. Being pitch side with my phone , seeing the game at that speed and intensity, reminded me why I choose this work as a sport journalist . Football isn’t just played on the grass. It’s lived in the faces of fans, in the shouts of coaches, and in the details most people miss.

Sabi put on a performance that was about heart as much as tactics. They played with purpose, stayed organized under pressure, and took their chances when it mattered. As I analyzed the game in real time, I could feel history building. When the final whistle went, it wasn’t just three points. It was confirmation. Sabi had done enough to see themselves through to the GFF Second Division.

For me, that moment meant everything. To witness a team earn promotion and to have the privilege of telling that story is why I do this job. From the Boxba Mini Stadium to the pages and posts where people will read the analysis, I got to capture more than a result.
