Over the past five days, we have engaged in deep self-reflection, joined community discussions, and kept each other in check to regulate our emotions as we collectively mourn and begin to accept the tragedy at Tai Po. It has become the unspoken weight in every team meeting, family dinners and friends’ gathering—where we all try to stay calm and carry on, yet the shared grief is impossible to ignore.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to every soul who has offered support in their own way: to the firefighters, medical teams, volunteers setting up grassroots donation centers, online support groups, and businesses stepping up in every possible capacity.
To the families who lost everything—their loved ones, their homes, their sense of security—our hearts ache for you. We can never fully grasp the depth of your pain, the fear for the future, or the long road ahead. But one thing is certain: Hong Kong stands with you. What has remained constant since the disaster is the overwhelming outpouring of love, compassion, and hope from our community. We may not have all the answers, but we will stay strong—for each other, and for the future.
Hong Kong, the Lord is watching over you; he is your shade at your right hand. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid—He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Let the world witness the love in Hong Kong: how we lift one another up, how we persevere, and how we face this challenge together.
