Should you avoid Roatan during rainy season? After 20+ years living on this island, I can tell you most people have it completely wrong. 🌴
Here's the truth about Roatan's rainy season (October - February):
Rainy season doesn't mean weeks of gray skies and canceled plans. It means short tropical bursts mixed with sunshine, cooler temps (not Cold), and some of the most peaceful months of the year.
What actually happens:
* Morning showers, afternoon beach days
* Lush green jungle, stunning sunsets
* Quieter beaches, lower accommodation prices
* Normal flights, ferries, and diving operations
* Only occasional storms, since hurricanes go North
The biggest misconception: People think rainy season = hurricane season. It doesn't on Roatan, since Roatan sits south of the main hurricane belt. Most systems pass 200+ miles north of us.
Rainy season is actually one of the BEST times to visit or buy property in Roatan. Lower prices. Fewer crowds. And you can properly evaluate drainage, road conditions, and how a property actually performs in real weather.
November is the rainiest month and the rains often stop or slow dramatically after the first of the year.
