Two days ago we organized a WooCommerce Zagreb meetup. Couple of notes from the pen of our CEO Kresimir:
- Shani Banerjee & Brian Coords spoke about high performance angle in every platform decision (note the HPOS in the pic), A11Y; and naturally, how A8C is working with both Open AI / Google on Agentic Commerce Protocol (ACP) and Universal Commerce Protocol (UCP).
- One puzzling question was about the eCommerce's next steps. Will merchants allow agentic, manual, chatbot, offsite, onsite checkout process? Currently, "nobody knows anything"; but our gut feeling is that the answer to all these questions is inclusive, rather than exclusive.
- Brent MacKinnon presented neat datapoints about WooCommerce usage. Third of all merchants use Woo. More and more, Woo is used for big or complex projects, which is also what we track. 54% of orders are coming from merchants that are doing more than $1M anually. Another stat is that Woo merchants are highly diversified bunch (home, toolings, apparel, food, drinks, beauty, fitness etc.) This is in stark contrast to Shopify where 'apparel' is the standout leader.
