A quick update following the non-runner news.

While Linwood (9/1) won't be taking his chance, we still have two live each-way value selections in one of the most competitive handicaps of the entire Royal Ascot meeting:

It's also worth noting that we originally identified THREE each-way value selections in this race, with Linwood joining Holloway Boy and Mister Winston on our shortlist.

For those shopping around, several bookmakers are paying up to 7 places on the Royal Hunt Cup, which can make a huge difference in a race of this nature.

🎯 That's exactly why we targeted bigger-priced runners with strong each-way profiles rather than chasing the obvious favourites.

A disappointing result for our ⭐ Best Bet ⭐ of the day.

Daryz travelled well and looked to have every chance turning for home, but when the race developed he could only stay on for third.

No excuses — we got this one wrong.

That's racing. Not every selection is going to win, and transparency is important. We celebrate the winners when they come, but we also own the losers and the selections that don't quite get the job done.

The positive is that Daryz still hit the frame, but at 9/4 it's little consolation when we were expecting much more.

We move on to the next race and stick to the process. Long-term success comes from consistency, discipline and finding value, not from any single result.

Not quite the result we were hoping for, but it was still a solid run from Friendly Soul to hit the frame.

Hopefully plenty of you managed to grab the bigger prices when she drifted out to 6/1 during the day and got on each-way before shortening into 7/2 at the off. Those extra points of value make a huge difference over the long term. 📈

It's another reminder that betting is about finding value, not just picking winners. A placed horse at the right price can often be just as important as a winner.
