We were delighted to launch the Sustainable Energy Communities (SEC) plan for West Midlands Credit Union (Athlone) on Sunday at their Greenify exhibition.

It’s the culmination of many months’ work — analysing energy use across the area, developing a series of actions to help reach their 2030 targets, and undertaking audits of local buildings.

Thanks so much to Clare in West Midlands Credit Union and Siobhán, the SEC mentor, for their support throughout.

eTownz will be attending the upcoming West-Midlands Credit Union “Go Green Expo” on the 1st of March in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Athlone from 12-4 pm.

eTownz will be presenting the completed Energy Master Plan for Athlone. The Energy Master Plan, developed with support from Westmeath County Council, the SEAI and prepared by eTownz, provides a roadmap for improving energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, and exploring renewable energy opportunities across homes, businesses, community buildings, and public services in Athlone. The plan identifies priority projects and access to grants and supports to help the community achieve measurable energy savings.

On Tuesday we facilitated an SEC Community Energy workshop in the beautiful village of Emly. It is part of SEC plan we are preparing for the community and 8 other communities around the country. A huge thanks to Liz/Catherine in the local Tidy Towns who help coordinated the very successful event and also the regional mentor Gearoid Fitzgibbon.
