I have to be honest...

Over the years, when people have asked me what I do and I tell them I'm a graphic designer, I've often been met with a blank look. Many people aren't quite sure what graphic design actually is.

The funny thing is, graphic design is everywhere. It's on your cereal box, the bus signs you follow, the apps you use, the menus you read, and even the jersey you wear to support your favourite team. You interact with graphic design hundreds of times every day.

Graphic design helps us communicate, navigate, choose, learn, and connect with the world around us.

As you go through your day today, take a look around.
Once you start noticing design, you can't unsee it.

A little detail that says so much ✨

I was delighted to work on this project with Ballykealey House. These bespoke wax seals we created are a finishing touch for a truly special wedding at Ballykealey House — a place where history lives in every corner.

Designed with the house’s monogram at the centre, each seal carries a sense of heritage and elegance. The antique gold tone paired with a soft metallic pearl finish gives them that timeless, heirloom feel… as though they’ve always belonged there.

Self-adhesive and beautifully tactile, they’ll be used on the couple’s table plans.

Because it’s often the smallest touches that leave the biggest impression.

🌸 Happy Mother's Day 🌸

This time six years ago, I was pregnant with my first child and the world started to close down because of Covid! I left the office where I worked not knowing then that this would be the last time, I would return to full time office based work! Things have changed alot in those six years, I am lucky to have a fabulous supportive husband, two beautiful children and am building a business I love.

This would not have been possible without the love and help of two "mighty women". ❤️

To my own mam, Lilly! Thank you so much for all your love and everything you have done for me - for the late nights you stayed up covering my schoolbooks with wallpaper, making me beautiful fairy wings from hangers and tinfoil, for cutting the crust off, for mashing my spuds and most of all:- never giving up! You simply are the best! ❤️

Aine McGovern my mother in law, thank you for welcoming me into your family nearly 18 years ago and treating me like a daughter. Your love, support and encouragement has really helped so much and allowed to me build my business. ❤️ You are always there for us, no matter what the time or day!

For all the other mothers, my sisters, sister in law, aunts, cousins, friends and clients - have a wonderful day! ❤️

On Friday I did something a little outside my comfort zone — I went to my very first networking event as a business owner to celebrate International Women’s Day.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it turned out to be such a lovely morning. So many great women in one room, brilliant guest speakers who openly shared their life experiences and invaluable tips for to keep going!

One quote that stuck with me was: “Choose direction over perfection.” Such a good reminder when you’re building something of your own.

Very glad I said yes to going.

And thank you so much for inviting me along.

A few things you might not know about me!

When I was younger, I wanted to be a teacher, I went on to study History, Sociology and kAnthropology in University but I got very homesick at only 17 and I left university.

In a twist of faith, I then got into studying Graphic Design and went
on to get my degree in Wales.

The grá to be a teacher of history has never left me, I have just found a different way to do it and to share the wonderful stories of the past.

By setting up my own design business, I am looking forward to working with clients on history based projects so we can teach people about history through beautiful design and story-telling.

Behind the Brand of The Bobs

A little peek into The Bobs — O’Briens Wine’s brand-new awards event — where I had the pleasure of creating the full brand identity and event signage.

Projects like this are truly my favourite… where creativity, atmosphere, and storytelling come together to define an experience from the moment guests walk through the door. Seeing the design brought to life at the event was great!
