Well my friend, this is slowly happening. My Artstudio's Letter Box is open, and I will be posting my illustrations, art, writing, project updates... all of that and some little surprises, directly on my website.

I'm still figuring out which is the best way to do this while I set up an actual Newsletter that goes right to your inbox, and eventually, maybe, to your actual mailbox! (the dream) πŸ’™πŸ“¬ So, forgive me if not everything runs smoothly in the next few weeks.

βœ…If you already know that YOU WANT TO JOIN MY UPCOMING NEWSLETTER, feel free to email me directly or send me a DM and I'll make sure you get the very first one straight out of the oven πŸ₯°πŸ˜ƒ

This is Letter #1 - Beginnings; and there will be at least one Letter for you to read every week. Maybe this week there'll be two, why not. Next one has more artwork, you'll see πŸ₯°πŸŒŠ

I wanted a space with less noise and more presence; a more intimate space in which I feel a bit more comfortable sharing certain things.

For now the Letters are in English, sorry if that makes things a bit more difficult.

Anyhow, you can now go to my little corner of the internet and read the rest of this Letter 1 # . www.arantzabelmonteartstudio.com/letters-blog

Thanks for being here πŸ’™

Love,
Arantza

Stillness ~ πŸŒ²πŸƒπŸ‚ I think when I painted this last month, I was unconsciously looking for a reminder to take deep breaths and slow down.
A reminder to take things as they come, deal with one at a time...
A reminder to allow some time for feelings to sink in,
and some time to soak in the changing colours and scents of the forest.

I hope this piece offers moments of presence and peace, even if brief, to its new owner🩡 I was lucky enough to have a lovely chat with her during the auction. Such a privilege and beautiful reminder that there’s real, loving people out there that value what I create.

This original watercolour was a donation to the arts committee in town (which I'm part of!), for the Arts Fundraiser. All profits went towards to the Shorelines Arts Festival accounts for the organisation of the upcoming festival in September this year πŸ₯°

See the exact moment my painting was picked up in the slides!

A.

I have been feeling a bit like this little one lately: tired and a bit sleepy.

Feels like everything is going too fast
and I can't focus on "one thing at a time".

Just too many of many things, all at once.

There's a "can't stop, won't stop" narrative in the lives of the people I love and care about, and that scares me. The go-go-go mindset, the "fill the gaps" mindset, the "I HAVE TO make it" mindset.

Fills me with worry and confusion,
because I can see it in me too, some days.

I'm reading this book called "Against the Machine" by Paul Kingsnorth, and is making me reflect a lot and ask myself difficult questions. It creates weighted silences in between chapters.

So here's a bit of it for you, maybe you feel curious and decide to read it someday:

"[...] All of this may be done with the best intentions (or it may not), but the things which cannot be measured will of course be left out of the equation, and the things which cannot be measured happen to be the stuff of life. Love. God. Place. Culture. The profound mystery of beauty. A sense of being rooted. A feeling for land or community or cultural traditions or the unfolding of human history over generations. Song. Art. They'll "datafy" all of this soon enough, no doubt, or try to. But the kind of people who think that the Great Lirbary of Alexandria contained "exabytes" worth of information rather than the collected fruits of hard-won wisdom are lost before they ever sit down to their datasets.[...]"

I've been enjoying chopping wood so much lately. The clank-chop-clank stills my mind and brings me back to my body, to the earth... to feeling connected, and alive.
That and climbing up trees to han upside down.

🫢 I'll be slowly stepping out from socials, but I'll let you know when you can join my letters' list to keep sharing art, words and experiences in a more intimate and relaxed way.

Love,
A.

I went to the cliffs to get my hair all messy with the wind and salt,
but instead I found myself asking for answers to questions I didn't even know I had.
I slept in my car that night, parked somewhere in Doolin (swipe to the endπŸš™)

The cliffs, the roaring waves and the wind do that to me: they shake me from head to toes, leaving a big mess behind for me to clean up. It feels refreshing, creative. Kintsugi, but instead of gold I had only mud to glue all the bits of me together again. And after that day, I was not the same.

I scribble and doodle everytime I've been out walking. My little body can't contain that much energy. Images, thoughts, emotions, hopes... washed to my soul's shore by the waves.
-----

βœ‰οΈβœ I feel this platform is no longer the best place for me to share my art, my adventures and pieces of my soul with you... So I'm thinking
of starting a blog/newsletter in my own website, to keep sharing but in a more intimate and personal space. What do you think? Will you pop over ? β˜•πŸ©΅

I recently learnt that a female fox is actually called "vixen".
Didn't have a clue.

January is already full of questions, new activities and projects;
new goals, challenges and exciting adventures awaiting on the horizon...
I didn't expect to add a new word to all these new things so soon.

Love the sound of it, "vixen".
A bit sharp and musical,
almost as if you had put to words together with a spark in between.
It has a hint of playful "sexyness",
a bit teasing and elusive.

I think that's why I'm sharing the last picture...
because that photo has a bit of "vixen" energy in it 🦊

January hasn't been kind to everyone,
so I hope you have kindness in your lives
and bring kindness to the people around you.

Love to you all, in these strange, scary times.🩡

Presence and peace ~

Now that Christmas is around the corner, the streets are hectic and the air and the hearts are buzzing... Can't help but drift to this lovely coffee house in Japan, where time stood still and enjoying a cuppa was all that mattered. β˜•

Presence and peace, unvaluable gifts.🩡

That's what I hope you get for Christmas this year, if you celebrate at all.

Be kind to you and the people around you, this season and always, for we never know what their souls are dealing with.πŸ‚

Another year, another EcoCalendar πŸ’™πŸ˜„
A little taste of the artwork inside the EcoCalendar2026, "Magical Encounters".
This year I share with you beautiful moments experienced during my travels and daily life... with the new addition of a dedicated website for the calendar with videos about each poems/piece of writing and the story behind the illustrations.

Donation is now done too! a 15% of the total benefits of the sales went to The Zaynab Project to aid families and children in GaZA πŸ‰

Thank you. Yes, you who have supported once again this personal project in which I get to express myself in the way I want. Feeling very grateful to get to create things like this that you enjoy and resonate withπŸ’™

If you've browsed the calendar already, do you have a favourite text / illustration? Because I don't know if I have an answer to that πŸ˜‚πŸ˜Œ

Another Irish cottage, this time with a blue door πŸ’™

I'm enjoying so much painting these small watercolours of Irish cottages... no expectations, no pressure, no goal in mind but to enjoy and share with you my view of the beauty of this country and its landscape. Nothing but art, expression, experimentation...✨

If you close your eyes, can you see yourself sitting on top of the stone wall, watching the birds dancing around ... listening to the wind singing? I certainly do.πŸ₯°πŸ€

Nature always sparks creativity in me.

Exploring Ireland is giving me a deeper sense of the land and its people.
Exploring, observing, listening... is helping me to connect with this stunning island that was my ever first trip abroad without "adults".

Now I observe a bit differently,
I explore a bit differently...
at a slower pace,
letting my soul catch up with my steps.

I find a strange feeling of peace at the edge of a cliff,
where the wind is blowing
and the waters crashing...
I feel quiet inside, contemplative.
Grateful. Peaceful.

Maybe that's why I tend to spend too long on the edges of Irish cliffs...
that I end up looking like an old lady making sure all the stones are placed in the right way.

"Fine job there lads",
but the seaguls look at me "funny".

Have you ever been to Ireland? What's your favourite spot? πŸ’™πŸ€
