Images vs videos… what actually works better for gym lead generation ads? 🤔

We run dynamic creative ads inside Meta (Facebook & Instagram), which lets us test up to 10 different creatives at once.

Our typical setup:

👉 8 images
👉 2 videos

For gym lead gen, images consistently do most of the heavy lifting when it comes to generating leads.

That said, videos are still powerful. We use them in every campaign and they can absolutely be the winning ad.

But more often than not, it’s the images driving the results.

Running ads in 2026 isn’t as easy as it used to be.

There’s lots more competition, and every gym is saying the same thing...

That’s why your ads need to be hyper specific.

Speak directly to busy dads, women aged 40+, athletes, seniors, beginners, parents with kids/teenagers, or whatever audience you want to attract.

The more your ad feels like it was written for them, the more likely they are to stop scrolling and take action.

You can target multiple audiences, but you should have separate ads for each group.

Do this, and your results will improve massively. 🚀

🧐 Facebook ads… what actually are they? 🧐
A Facebook ad is simply a paid ad (a sponsored post).

You (should) build it on a laptop inside Ads Manager platform, and I won’t lie, the first time you open it, it can look a bit daunting.

There’s a lot going on and it can feel like “where do I even start?”

The good news is, when you’re running good campaigns, you don’t need to use lots of what’s on that screen.

If you just learn the most important basics, you can get going and start running ads without overcomplicating it.

Also, when I say “Facebook ads”, people often respond with:
“Facebook is dead”
“My customers are on Instagram”

That might be true.

But “Facebook ads” is just the term people use.

Your ads show across Facebook and Instagram, including feeds, stories, and more.

So technically we should call them Meta Ads.

But when you hear “Facebook ads”, just know people usually mean ads across both platforms.
