Sitting in my scrubs, waiting for my next patient... and I catch myself doing something I used to feel guilty about. Just breathing. Just being still.
So many of us — nurses, caregivers, near-retirement professionals — carry the belief that rest has to be earned, that stopping means we're falling behind.
Here's the truth I keep coming back to: you agreed to do your job in exchange for pay — not your peace, not your evenings, not your soul. Take the lunch break. Use the PTO. Rest without guilt.
I've watched women in my own circle start reclaiming their time — and their future — one small boundary at a time. It's possible for you too.
