Does your brand have a trueline? It might just be the piece you’re missing in your marketing campaign 🧩

Rather than running the jackpot 🎰🎲 and hoping your consumers are saying the right thing about your brand - a trueline statement will pull your train back on the tracks of brand success.

Think about what real estate you own in your consumers heads… now go ask strangers to look at your brand and ask them what they see (if they say something in contrary to your goals) you’re going to need a Trueline statement STAT!

They serve many masters:
1: It’s the one thing about you that you want your audience to remember. (This is the real estate you want to own in their minds.)

2: It’s a strong internal reminder of what your brand should be focussed on (to make sure everything accurately doing its job.)

3: It’s a great internal tool for staff to shape their sales pitches around (or all of your marketing communications digitally or otherwise)

4: When reviewing your marketing, customers should be describing to you (your trueline) if they say something otherwise, your marketing needs to be adjusted. (So it’s great measuring stick!)

5: If you’re looking to develop this in consumers and you have a lot of touch-points, it’s worthy having a tagline that punches your message effectively into the market.

Brand strategy is a set of goals or objectives you must achieve in order to increase your brands awareness in your selected market.

Do people look at your products or services like a commodity?

Or do do people look at your products or services like a partnership, a way for them to signal to the world - this is who i am & what I believe in.

People don’t buy a to drive to work, they buy a jeep for the brand equity - it symbolises adventure. It tells the world a little bit about who you are and what your personality is.

People don’t buy because they need a pair of shoes, they buy Nike Air Jordans for the brand equity. - it symbolises athletic confidence. It tells the world about your swag & who you think that makes you.

People don’t buy just because they like to use social media, they buy apple because it’s about challenging the status quo and living with tech intuitively. It signals to the world (I’m tech savvy, youthful, and I care about simplicity.

Products make us who we are, we buy them emotionally to signal our place in the world to those around us.

Brand Strategy is not about cashflow, ROI, performance, conversion, business prowess.

Brand strategy is knowing your niche communities goals, their needs & how you can deeply serve them.

It’s about knowing who you are; what you stand for; what it means to do business with you and why people should care. Through achieving your goals and growing awareness with the right communication.

If you want to take your content to another level of professionalism it’s important to take these 4 pillars into consideration. You could spend hours to go in-depth in all 4, however this is just a highlight reel as what your focal points should be.

The Hook; is insanely important as the average attention span of user engagement on instagram is 0.42 seconds. So you need to have something interesting enough for someone to stop at.

Branding Tag; this is the moment when you’re essentially saying “hey it’s me” with your own style. This could be a logo, sound, jingle, song, colours or a framework. Something that will build upon the users previous experience with you. If you stay consistent on this it will build trust upon your brand.

Actionable Advice; if you give the user an experience with advice that they can take away. They will feel a sense that they have been given something of value. They may not engage or buy from you, but this positive experience will compound into that user taking some form of action in the future. Making your brand more valuable to them over time.

Be Consistent; stay the course and don’t be distracted by likes, comments as they’re not a calculable metric. Focus instead on massing momentum over time, remain consistent with your niche,style & framework. Next time you’re in a supermarket, keep this in the back of your head.

You may think you’re simply buying your groceries, however behind the pretty packages is thousands of hours of consumer research, copywriting, messaging, color psychology, signalling, behavior cues, story-telling, claims, taglines & more!

All of the products in that store are screaming at their target consumers for attention, claiming “hey I believe what you believe” buy me!

My point is this, you don’t purchase by accident. You’ve decided on some level why that product is a good fit for you.

If you’re looking to better understand branding, start by understanding how you personally interact with brands. This way you can train yourself to think like a consumer thinks.

What drives humans & their emotions? At the deepest core of their being it is their most desired needs, of which there are 6 categories. You can get 1000x more granular with this, but first you must grip the concept.

Certainty; this is a sense of security, assuredness & consistency. Clients want to feel this when doing business with you, that you’re service & product is the right decision for them.
-
Uncertainty; Too low in this need & you will feel bored, too high & you will feel out of control. Having this balanced is a level of risk+excitement that people find attractive. Clients need to feel this energy when doing business.

Love & Connection; people buy from people they connect with & feel that are on the same wave/page as them. Connection is key to igniting high levels of trust & trust means clients signing on the bottom line in ink.

Significance; people must feel important, most high performance tend to lean into this need as their primary need. Empower people to feel special & needed, this will flood them with emotions of success & reward.

Growth & Development; everyone wants to feel like they’re progressing & making their lives better over-time in some form. Clients need to know that what you’re offering is going to help them get ahead.

Our conscious brain not seem affected, but it's played a massive role in everyones daily life whether they realise it or not. This may seem like an odd concept but it's rather a simple one, the world we live in today has rapidly developed when it comes to stimulation and how rapid it shows up in our every day life.
-
Everything from the clothes they wear, the makeup they use, car's they drive. How they speak, act, think & almost anything you can think of has been impacted and imprinted upon by marketing in some form or another.
-
The challenge is it overwhelms the brain and you're left fried mentally at the end of the day, now don't get me wrong there is nothing wrong with any of these things. However when all added up they may seriously be getting in the way of your life and wellbeing when it comes to your success.

I’m selling creative every day through my agency I’m learning the true value of selling my service to a client far after the pay date!

Running an agency has taught me one thing, the sale is not over until the client has what they want.

You see once a client hands you their money, they want to know they can trust you with it. That they will get what they paid for & then some!

What I mean here is stop thinking the sale is done when the client signs on the dotted line. The sale is done when the client has their assets & is screaming from the rooftops at your amazing service!
