Who Was Cain's Wife? The Answer Will Shock You | Bible Story

Every pastor knows where Cain's wife came from. Almost none will say it from the pulpit.
Genesis 4:17 drops four words that break the creation narrative wide open: "And Cain knew his wife." No name. No origin. No explanation. Then immediately—he builds a city. A city requires hundreds of people. Where did they come from if Adam and Eve were the only humans?

The Sunday school answer is easy: Cain married his sister. But that answer doesn't explain the city. It doesn't explain why the Bible mentions her like we already know. And it doesn't explain the archaeological evidence that keeps turning up in Mesopotamia.
