hona hai. That is the message. Since the beginning Jam Ketchup has been working with local SME companies helping them grow into meaningful social brands. Till the '50s there were no global sports equipment brands operating in India. Entrepreneurs like Shri Nihal Chand Kharbanda stepped up to build the first football in the country in 1934. Today, not only their footballs are FIFA approved they are used as match balls in international tournaments. Believe me the match ball standards are insane. In cycling I saw and read about these LBS (a terms for Local Bike Shop in UK & US). There is a lot of emphasis and support for LBS. It is because compared to global chain stores, locally owned businesses recycle a much larger share of their revenue back into the local economy, enriching the whole community. Take Starbucks vs Blue Tokai Coffee Roasters (I could name more local brands). Puny compared to the giant MNC, but their coffees punch way higher.
The Prime Minister has stepped up the game. It time for us to Step out and Play for Make In India.
