What happens when an early fascination with computers eventually leads back to the engineering field you once wanted to leave behind?
For Mohit Sahu, the journey moved through small-town curiosity, cybersecurity, ethical hacking, delayed graduation, entrepreneurship and, eventually, mining technology.
Growing up in Raigarh, he taught himself how computers, networks and systems worked, later reported vulnerabilities through bug bounty programmes and co-founded an IT services company. Years later, his background in Mining Engineering and technology came together in Minocular, built under Bluebanyan Technologies to help mining operations bring machine, sensor and operational data into a more unified view.
Today, Minocular is live across more than 20 mining job sites, with more than 700 machines connected to the platform, according to information provided by Mohit.
What makes his story interesting is not only the technology. It is the way each unconventional turn in his career eventually connected.
From taking apart machines as a child to building systems for operating mines, one instinct remained constant: understand how the system works, then find a better way to build it.
