Police Solve 17-Year-Old Faiz Mohammed Murder Case, Three Accused Arrested
have swiftly solved the murder of 17-year-old Faiz Mohammed, also known as Azaan, by arresting three accused within days of the incident.
The arrested accused have been identified as Mohammed Abrar (A1), Mohammed Ismail alias Farhaan (A2), and Mohammed Ashfaq (A3).
According to police, the murder took place at around 2:30 a.m. on July 19 at Area Of 's Old City under Kalapathar Police Station limits. The accused had reportedly gone to the locality in search of another person. When Faiz Mohammed questioned their presence, an argument broke out.
Police said Mohammed Abrar and Mohammed Ismail alias Farhaan allegedly attacked the teenager with sharp-edged knives, while Mohammed Ashfaq assaulted him with fist blows. Faiz sustained multiple grievous injuries and died on the spot. The accused then fled the scene on an Activa scooter.
Immediately after the incident, Kalapathar Police launched an intensive investigation. By analysing eyewitness accounts, scientific evidence, and technical clues, the investigation team traced and arrested all three accused near Chandrayangutta on July 27.
During interrogation, the accused allegedly confessed to the crime. Police recovered two blood-stained knives, blood-stained clothes, the Activa scooter (AP13 AB 0101) allegedly used in the offence, and three mobile phones.
Police also revealed that all three accused have previous criminal antecedents. They were produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody, while further investigation is underway.
The investigation was led by Inspector Mohd. Khaleel Pasha of Kalapathar Police Station along with his team.
Hyderabad City Police reiterated their commitment to ensuring swift justice through professional investigation and scientific policing, and appealed to citizens to promptly report any criminal or suspicious activities to help maintain law and order in the city.
