1: Not defining campaign goals
• Success is impossible to measure if you don't know what goals you are trying to achieve through SEO. Plus, if you've set goals but haven't identified any key performance indicators (KPIs), it's hard to know that you've met your campaign objectives.
2: Low Patience
• SEO is a long-term investment. It isn’t something you can rush, no matter how many resources you use. Businesses get frustrated when they don't make significant profits in the first few months. They may question their investment, decide to curtail their efforts, or pull the plug altogether. Please don't assume that your SEO efforts aren't working because your site isn't on top of the search engine result pages in the first month. It takes time and consistent effort.
3: Poor Website Design
• Site visitors do not like complex, difficult-to-use websites and neither does Google. What gets liked and rewarded, however, are site designs that are intuitive, simple sites that make it easy for site visitors and Google's "crawlers" to navigate through a website. By analyzing the structure of a website, Google can determine whether it makes sense to have your site take down the rankings.
4: Confusing Page Titles
• Google likes to see site pages where the titles accurately reflect the content. After all, it is the title that draws the readers in. Your goal should be to create descriptive, compelling titles with a sprinkling of customization. And to be precise, putting irrelevant keywords into article titles and misleading your readers isn't a great way to keep their trust in Google.
5: Not enough attribution
• Tracking data is important. Ultimately, it shows how much return on investment is coming from your SEO efforts. However, it is a mistake to only track SEO data and not track business statistics and conversions related to your SEO efforts.
