It is the customer who has the greatest power in market, no matter how advanced the business has developed. Customer's choice of product decides the survival, growth or end of a business. Marketers always ensures that the campaigns and other sales promotional activities are always targeted at the right audience. Else it may impact the business negatively, if the target audience are wrong, then their perception about the product might be entirely different from that of the intended audience. Customer service is one of the factor which influences a customer's perception about the business. Customer service or after sales services are always focused on providing a satisfactory element to the customer. A satisfied customer will point out the benefits of using a particular product or services of a company among peers, which will give them an idea about what to expect when choosing that company's products. To be successful in life or in business one has to be a little experimental, which may involve some extent of risk. Nobody becomes successful without making a single mistake. Some may follow a certain pattern in business, which is being used for decades to minimize risk of failure. While some may do things differently to bring about changes in the flow of business by taking risk and becomes successful. Either way some element of risk will be always present even though its limited. Risk is higher in the case where a business man think of doing things differently for running the business. In business maintaining a positive attitude is very important as there are chances of committing mistakes even if you are following the regular pattern or while experimenting. But there will always be an outcome, either you will learn about what to avoid and what to concentrate from the mistakes committed. Else, you will succeed in it and mark a new milestone for others to follow. Due to the fear of making a mistake and becoming a failure, if one avoids something which has to be done, such person may not be able to gain success. Instead will remain satisfied with the small profit. Higher your goal, bigger will be the risk involved, but with proper dedication and will power one can be successful in his business and reach great heights.

Marketing plays a crucial role in business, which is an ongoing process. We can hardly see any business which has not invested in marketing. How did marketing became an important element of business and how does it benefit customer and the business man? The main aim of marketing is to attract the potential customers towards the product, by making them aware of its features and how much benefit a customer can gain by purchasing it. When a business gets commenced, and if the owner sits ideal without taking any effort to market the product by posting banners or flyers etc. The reach a product can get, will be limited to that small area where the shop is located. While, a business with proper marketing campaigns can gain the attention of a large target audience. This is the basic scenario, which shows the significance of marketing. Customers are able to differentiate products based on the ads posted by the sellers and can decide what they need. Nowadays we can sell or buy anything online. From the basic day to products to luxurious commodities, online platforms has marked its place in the world of business. Before 80's, when the digital revolution started, the idea of using internet as the medium for business was an unlikely dream. But, gradually it became a reality. Few of the early e-commerce business like Amazon, Paypal etc. are now among the major business players. The scope of online business has grown to such an extent that even the scraps and used products is available online. And there are dedicated websites or applications where sale of speciality products takes place. The main advantage of online platform is that we can buy anything from anywhere across the globe. Based on the type of goods, cost and destination the safety measures, confidentialilty are usually provided by the company as per customer's preference. We cannot ignore the fact that there are fraudulent activities related to online business being reported everyday and numerous times people fall for it. But when the product is ordered from a genuine and reputed entity then the chances of such incidents are comparatively low. A business gains its customers based on many factors like the product line, quality, price, packaging, service and ultimately based on the satisfaction level of customers. This cannot be achieved with a single day's effort, as business always grows in proportion to the increase in loyal customers. Nowadays, there are a lot of communities supporting different brands, business accounts etc. in social media. But the genuineness of these group is questionable. As it is very easy to gain huge number of fake followers just to show the public that the so-called account of the company or individual is very reputed and bears the interest of public. In reality, if majority of the community is fake, it usually comes to light with in a specific time, when we carefully analyze the followers activities in the page. For eg: the page has 30k followers but average likes are only 90-100. The company won't get anything productive by creating such fake group, as it will only affect the built up reputation of the business. Another trend that is seen in the online platform is making the people follow certain account or page in the name of participating in giveaways or any other contest. The truth is that most of the people who follows the account for the sake of being in the game might be not interested in that account or product. But still does it hoping that they may get something in return. In current scenario, fake community and forced joining to the group are quite common. But such acts does not give any long lasting return for the the business. One thing that everyone tends to forget is that having loyal customers who honestly loves the products/services and their support for the business is far better way to show the company's goodwill than faking or forcing people to be part of the group they are not interested in. And such fake attempts are always short lived.

Everyone irrespective of age does one activity or another in their daily life. But if we weigh the productive activity which gives some accomplishment, it will be way too lower than the unproductive activity in each individual's life. In business, there are several works that should be carried out regularly for achieving a goal at a certain level. Just a day's work won't give anyone that fulfilment. A goal can be achieved only by doing activities collectively based on a plan. For eg: while doing sales promotional activity, seller's aim is to attract the potential customers; for that (i) a seller can execute the promotional activity at some random place with the people he/she come across (ii) a seller can do the campaigns after a proper research about the locations from where he/she can cover maximum target audience. In both cases seller does some work, but in the first scenario work is completed, but nothing productive comes out of it. While in latter with proper research, seller accomplishes the goal. At every stage, such scenarios will occur and at no point we should mistake simply doing an activity to be an achievement. We have to agree that performing a task involves collective contribution of many factors like time, effort, attention, etc. And these task when done with certain productivity acts as the stepping stone towards achieving the goal.

Consistency is a very significant factor that is required throughout the process of fulfilling your vision. If you are not dedicated towards achieving the goal, the chances of being successful diminishes. Irrespective of the type of work or business, the stakeholders expects stability from the person. Especially in Business, if there is no regularity in handling the operations, risk of incurring loss increases and it becomes difficult to survive in the market without gaining profit and by losing customers. Probability of getting distracted from the goal is relatively high in the initial stage of business, as it is still the learning period for the company. There is no easy way to success, proper planing and steadily working towards the goals step by step is the only way to success. Nothing should be left out in between the process. Constantly attracting target audience through sales promotion; providing proper service, regardless of being new or existing customers; uniformly doing after sales services, conducting surveys and collecting feedbacks etc. All these are stepping stone towards success which is attainable just by being consistent in the business. Customers are core of the business. Without them business has no existence. For any type of company, it is difficult to gain loyal customers in the early stage of trading. Customers will be more likely comfortable in buying the products offered by established brands or from traders whom they trust. Incase of start-up companies, the sales promotion activities plays the crucial role in gaining proactive customers attention. Gradually, people's trust for the brand grows and eventually gets converted to loyal customers. Building trust in the mind of people is a very lengthy process and customer satisfaction is one of the major deciding factor. We often see or hear complaints reported against well established companies, due to customer dissatisfaction. Mostly, it can be related to product or customer service. Usually in such scenarios, customer's relationship with company ends on a hard note. That's how social media complaints rise, as customers writes all the faults of the company products, services and about support from customer care. Cases escalated to that extent may or may not get solved, but generally customer rarely uses the company's service again. One of the reason being that once the trust gets broken, customers often finds it difficult to return to the same company for purchasing any product. The other reason is that there multitude more of company where they can possibly get better service. Hence, it's always important to have plans to retain the customer in all the possible ways and gain their trust.

Let's start with what comes to our mind when we say the word brand. It can be a logo, tagline, name, symbol, product or a mark. Brand does not gain its identity in a single day. Once a business is commenced, agents or the buyer himself will have to promote the product/services that is being offered in the market. Gaining name for a company starts with familiarizing people about the features of the product, through sales promotion and generating interest in them to purchase the product. Next step is encouraging customers to share their experience about using the products, through company websites, by filling the feedback forms or through social media. All of these steps will benefit the company in gaining potential customer's attention. This is an ongoing process as long as the business exist. If the product is good and it satisfies the customer, eventually brand will get marked in people's mind. A well established company will not get much judged by the people, as they know what to expect from the products introduced under its brand name. The best examples are Apple, Sony, Bugatti, Rolls Royce, Harley Davidson, Nike etc. These brands are already bench marked by the customers. Such brands always get the upper hand in the market, as people will buy the product without any second thoughts. While visiting a local market, we often see sellers actively doing sales pitch among the people who pass by the shop. If they are interested they will visit the shop and buy the products at once. Similarly in digital world, all the techniques are used to promote the product and gain the attention of the target audience. Due to the competition prevailing in the business, more effort has to be taken by the seller, to make the buyers choose one product over the others. If the products are not properly promoted, people won't have much idea about it and most likely have least interest in purchasing the same. Product promotion plays a significant role in attaining the customer's attention and there by increasing the sales. Irrespective of a company's goodwill, if the customers are not aware about the new product that has been launched in the market, the only way they may hear about it will be when they visit the company's stores or, from peers. This will directly effect the overall sales of the product and company will incur loss. Nowadays such cases are rare, as products are promoted well enough for the customer's reach. But the quote is very meaningful, as without promoting the product, you won't be able to make sales to gain profit.
