There is a quiet change that comes with watching your children grow up.
For years, your days are organised around someone else. Their schedules, their needs, their little joys and their endless questions become a natural part of who you are. Then, slowly, they become independent, and you suddenly have more time than you know what to do with.
I have seen many parents struggle with this transition.
And perhaps this is where we need to change the way we look at it.
Our children growing up does not mean that our purpose becomes smaller. It gives us an opportunity to turn some of that attention back towards ourselves.
This is one reason I value meditation so deeply. It gives us a little space away from our roles and responsibilities, where we can simply sit with ourselves and listen.
Sometimes, that quiet is not loneliness.
It is an introduction to a part of yourself you may have neglected for many years.
Every stage of life has something beautiful waiting for us. We only need to be present enough to notice it.❤️
