A well designed recreational intended to span out in 14500 sqft area of fifteenth floor of 'Sky Earth Corporate Park' is designed in such a way that it's beneficial not only for physical health, but for mental health as well.

It was a big leap from their previous office and the client wished for an uplifting workspace with utmost transperancy between individuals to break the monotonous corporate office norms.

Four lifts open their door to the waiting lounge of Shopkirana HQ. Upon entering, visitors are treated with skyline of Indore city, through the large floor-to-height windows. To the left one can visit the reception counter for enquiry, merchandise shopping and a hot cup of coffee as well.

The entire space is flooded with natural sunlight with a work desk concentrated at the center and shelves reaching up the wall. A minimal approach is evident in its design with mere texture paint adorning the walls and art pieces finishing it off.

Featuring a 490sqft home is Mumbai, a little retreat of Joy. Teak wood is paired with other pure materials and pops of playful colours, to curate a clean and minimal style sensibility.

Spread across a humble 490sqft of area, architects Tanvi Gandhi and Pooja Gadhia of Studio GaGa () were approached to transform a typical small space home in Mumbai to reflect the larger-than-life aspirations of its young owners and their child. The duo has managed to serve major inspiration so much so, even large expanses can benefit from their design approach.

The story of their inspiration starts from a simple childhood game of tic-tac-toe. Their interpretation of this beloved classic pen and paper game for two players, has resulted in the inclusion of circular motifs in a dramatic fashion, while a spatial layout ensures there’s enough space for the family to just be.

Tanvi explains, “This home is an amalgamation of classical details and modern minimalistic art. We wanted to create a home that as modern as it may be, still exudes a familiar, comforting vibe that allows its occupants to thread through this home, barefoot and happy. Our initial vision was to declutter the existing skeleton and add a breath of fresh air. We wanted to do this while keeping the context and surrounding fabric in mind. We wanted to create a space that speaks enough in silence.”

Ameet has certainly pulled out all the stops to craft a home that convergences in a bold scale of drama and dynamism.

Famed singer Smita Vallurupalli (), her husband Shashank Kancharla, and her daughter reside in this color-soaked that is skillfully designed by Ameet Mirpuri () of Design Studio.
The courtyard that this spatial merge has created enjoys heights not normally associated with urban living, but that’s what Ameet has crafted, created, and perfected!

About the brief, Ameet says, “Smita Vallurupalli is a pop and playback singer in the Telugu film industry and an entrepreneur in the beauty and fashion business. Her husband, Shashank Kancharla is also an entrepreneur and helms many businesses along with Smita and on his accord own too.

They live here with their eight-year-old daughter. Art plays a major role as we collected a lot of the pieces during the making of the project. Also, we stayed away from anything that was too straight-lined.”

Nestled in the suburb of Khar in suburban Mumbai, 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗻𝗼. 𝟭𝟮 is an idyllic amidst the chaos and energy that surrounds Mumbai.🌴

The design brief from the client was to create a home that is suited for a young couple in their early 30’s with a toddler. The aim was to create a space that had a classic, contemporary and modern aesthetic, but at the same time, exude fun, color & eclectic elements through art, accessories, accent furniture and lights.

Further transitioning into the living room, there are three seating areas, which despite being in three different corners, are in perfect harmony with the space. To differentiate between the seating areas, an elevation has been added to the left side of the home, which boasts of a wall crafted out of 3-dimensional handmade tiles.

The living room spills into the dining area, where the space has been kept minimal, giving spotlight to the live edge wood dining table from ‘and so’ and the modern chandelier by Arjun Rathi.

The master bedroom is designed to be simple and neutral, with wallpaper on the wall behind the bed, and a wall dedicated to photographs on one side. The room opens into the walk-in wardrobe, shoe closet, and master bathroom.

The nursery, despite being created for a baby girl, has been done in very neutral colors of greys, yellows, and green, through a wallpaper that exudes a gentle warmth and has a very cute aesthetic to it and a custom daybed in white PU.

𝗔𝗜𝗞𝗬𝗔 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 based in south Bangalore in a 4,800 sq. Ft site is a perfect representation of ongoing interaction with the new language of tropical residential architecture. Evocative of the simple, open structures of times past, yet possessed of a modernity of spirit perfectly in keeping with contemporary life.

On entering this south facing property, thematically reminiscent of the modern version of “Angel Angkul”, which is used as much to isolate views of the property as to protect inhabitants. Once inside, the building occupies one portion of the large site area which in turn orients itself into a larger external courtyard which occupies the other half of the site.

An elongated bridge in gray stone, extends past the perimeter of the "outdoor living space" linking the water body. On the eastern side of the ground floor, living and the dining areas look directly over the garden and the water body and are designed as a single large area, while the other spaces like kitchen, bedroom etc are designed contributing tithe ordered flow of the property creating an air of space and tranquility.

The main staircase designed part of the internal court, separates the public and semi-public spaces and leads above tp the private bedrooms and the family area which has a small bridge leading to the 'pavilion' on the eastern side. On the second level, the common utilities like the audio-visual room, bar and the gym are positioned so as to have privacy as well as protection from direct sunlight.

All the spaces are naturally directed inwards, utilizing the central indoor court as well the external landscaped lawn to become focal points, underscoring the dramatic symbiosis between indoor and outdoor spaces. Contemporary needs and the clients strict brief of 'no clutter home' helped to frame the color palette of the house.

Celebrating women day with one of the brightest Designers of all time Shri Sunita Kohli Ji

𝗠𝗿𝘀. 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗮 𝗞𝗼𝗵𝗹𝗶 is an Indian interior designer, architectural restorer, furniture manufacturer and a highly regarded civil society leader in India. She is an architectural restorer of some of the most prominent heritage buildings, forts and palaces in India, Pakistan, Bhutan and Sri Lanka that are vital links to the history and culture of South Asia.

She had restored and decorated Rashtrapati Bhavan, Parliament House Colonnade, the Prime Minister's Office and Hyderabad House in New Delhi. She was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India in 1992.

Ms Kohli is a Founder Trustee of 'Satyagyan', (an affiliate of 'World Literacy of Canada'), an organization that works in over 400 slum communities in Varanasi and its environs with children's education and women's empowerment through literacy and vocational training.

In 2005, she founded the one-of-a-kind Museum of Women in the Arts in India (in conjunction with the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington DC, on whose international advisory board she sits). Through this Museum, national award-winning artists have been regularly showcasing their work to inspire and engage with the next generation of women artists to effect positive change in society at the state, city and village level.

Sunita Kohli and her daughter Kohelika Kohli also founded k2_india a multi–disciplinary architectural, design and furniture manufacturing firm, constituted in 2010.

She is 75 years old, but still has a young passion for Home Architecture & Design.

Here’s to all the strong women like Sunita Kohli: May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them, so they will never cease to glorify our nation in front of the world.
