Over the past week, farmers and farmer organisations across different states have come out on the streets, and have steadfastly agitated against the new Farm Acts which were enacted in Parliament earlier this year. Farmer organisations have come together, to raise concerns about the proposed corporatisation of agriculture, the dismantling of the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) system, the threats to the implementation of minimum support price (MSP), the low levels of agricultural production, and the poor levels of rural employment.

More importantly they are questioning on the streets, the undemocratic manner in which such policies were enacted by the central Government without any engagement with the opposition.
