The new statue near Corbyn’s Cove Beach Road 📍 in Port Blair was sculpted by artist Raghesh Sasi and team.

Sasi began the sculpture in April 2025, and it took approximately 17–18 months to complete. He prepared two initial Shiva designs before the current posture/design was selected.

🚨 ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLANDS GET A NEW LT. GOVERNOR 🇮🇳

Dr. Dinesh Sharma, BJP Rajya Sabha MP and former Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, has been appointed as the new Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The appointment was announced by Rashtrapati Bhavan and will take effect from the date he assumes office.

At 62, Dr. Sharma brings extensive administrative and political experience. He served as Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister from 2017 to 2022 and previously held the position of Mayor of Lucknow.

He will succeed Admiral D. K. Joshi (Retd.), who has served as Lieutenant Governor of the Islands since October 2017.

🇮🇳 A new chapter of leadership begins for the Islands.

On successful creation of two namely , on 02/05/2026 and the , the next day at by , Hon’ble Lt. Governor announced ’s “ON THE SPOT COMMENDATION” to Shri Vinayak Chamadia, IAS, Director /Nodal officer, during the closing ceremony, in recognition of his meticulous efforts towards the successful conduct of these events as well as seamless planning and flawless ex*****on in organization of these events.
In a formal function held today at , handed over the Commendation Certificate to the Officer in presence of , Snr. Officers of , & and also unveiled the full version of the official video related to these two . The links to these two videos will be released separately.
