Jawaharlal Nehru College, Pasighat stands as a testament to the origins of higher education in Arunachal Pradesh, nurturing AAPSU and countless dreams.
AAPSU pays tribute to this rich heritage by adopting the college as a Model Institute of Higher Learning, with a detailed proposal presented to the Honourable Education Minister. The mother institution's legacy endures.

In a press conference,
Byabang Joram, Chairman of Arunachal Civil Society, spoke to the media about the recent High Court ruling directing a preliminary CBI investigation involving Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

Joram stated that to guarantee an impartial probe, the Chief Minister should relinquish his position on moral grounds. He voiced apprehensions that continued tenure in office during the inquiry might enable interference, given the Chief Minister's access to state machinery.
Emphasizing transparency and public trust, Joram noted that resignation would facilitate an untainted investigation.

APCC President Shri BOSIRAM SIRAM Demands Immediate Resignation of Chief Minister Following Supreme Court-Ordered CBI Probe, Exposes BJP's Corruption Model in Arunachal Pradesh.

Itanagar | 6 April 2026. I, as the President of the Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), wholeheartedly welcome the recent order of the Hon'ble Supreme Court directing a CBI preliminary inquiry into the alleged irregular allotment of public contracts to the relatives of the sitting Chief Minister.

This landmark intervention by the Hon'ble Supreme Court is not just a routine directive—it is a serious indictment and a clear acknowledgment of the rampant corruption, nepotism, and abuse of power prevailing under the present BJP Government in Arunachal Pradesh.

For years, I have been consistently raising concerns about the systematic diversion of public resources to benefit a select few closely associated with those in power.

Today, the Supreme Court's order vindicates those concerns and exposes the deep-rooted corruption within the highest office of the State. The allegations—reportedly involving contracts worth over ₹1270 crore—represent a gross betrayal of public trust and a blatant violation of transparency, accountability, and ethical governance. It is deeply unfortunate that a government which claims “zero tolerance towards corruption” is itself at the epicentre of such serious charges.
The Prime Minister's oft-repeated slogan, “Na khaunga, na khane dunga,” stands completely contradicted in Arunachal Pradesh today.
The Supreme Court's intervention has made it abundantly clear that corruption has flourished unchecked under the BJP-led government. In light of these grave developments,

I strongly demand: the immediate resignation of the Chief Minister on moral grounds, pending the outcome of the inquiry; a free, fair, and time-bound investigation, preferably under judicial monitoring, to ensure transparency and prevent any undue influence; and strict compliance with the Supreme Court's directions, including preservation of all official records and full cooperation with the investigating agency.

I also express serious concern that public institutions may have been misused to favour individuals with close familial and political ties, thereby undermining the very foundation of democratic governance.
The people of Arunachal Pradesh deserve clean, transparent, and accountable governance. No individual, however powerful, can be allowed to remain above the law.
I reaffirm APCC's unwavering commitment to uphold the rule of law and ensure accountability in public life.
We will intensify our outreach across the State to inform citizens and mobilize public opinion against corruption and misuse of power.
