Pulwama Police Busts Drug Smuggling Attempt, 1.53 Kg Charas Recovered

Pulwama Police arrested a suspected drug peddler during naka checking on Railway Road and recovered around 1.53 kg of charas-like substance (Bang Boosa). The accused, identified as Umar Farooq Lone of Nehama, was apprehended while attempting to flee. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered, and investigation is underway.

In an unprecedented security move, experts involved in setting the question papers for the NEET-UG re-examination scheduled to be held on June 21 have been placed under lockdown at an undisclosed location. The move comes as the government seeks to prevent a repeat of the May paper leak that sparked nationwide outrage and condemnation.

According to a reports, all experts involved in preparing the NEET re-exam question paper have been cut off from phones, laptops, internet access and outside communication under unprecedented security measures.

15 Injured in Road Accident in Rajouri’s Tandwal Area
Jammu, June 8 :At least 15 people were injured after a canter bus skidded off the road at Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch national highway at Tandwal area of Rajouri district on Monday.
Officials told GNS that the bus, bearing registration number JK11A-071, lost control near Tandwal and veered off the road.
All 15 injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident.(GNS)

Banihal, Jun 08: A truck driver from Pampore lost his life after his vehicle met with an accident on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) at Nachlana area of Tehsil Banihal in Ramban district on Monday morning.

Officials told that a canter truck bearing registration number JK02DU-9275, which was travelling from Kashmir towards Jammu, overturned near Nachlana, resulting in the driver’s death on the spot.

The deceased has been identified as Mohd Zafar, son of Mohd Kassim, a resident of Pampore.

Soon after the accident, police and rescue teams rushed to the spot and shifted the body for medico-legal formalities to SDH Banihal.The cause of the accident was not immediately known. Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further investigation is underway. (JKNS)
