At the end of today's general audience, Pope Francis was given the final results of a synodal listening session held with people with disabilities in May ("Us, not them", the Synod as a path for including people with disabilities).

Five people with disabilities met the pope and delivered the results, including Sr. Marie Claire Rolland, a religious sister from France with Down syndrome. Sr. Marie Claire hugged Pope Francis and then gave the pope a blessing. Pope Francis was the third pope Sr. Marie Claire has met.

Delivering the synthesis to the Pope, participant Giulia Cirillo said: “We thank you because the Synod has given us the opportunity to make the Church even more inclusive”. The Holy Father replied: “I give thanks to you! Please continue to pray for me.
