The National Drag Racing Circuit (NDRC) is a Limited Liability Company, formed in 2002 to undertake the challenge of growing the sport of Drag Racing in Jamaica. Multiple events have been held annually for five (5) years, spanning from inception to 2007. Over the years, endorsements from The Jamaica Millennium Motoring Club (JMMC), Government bodies such as the National Road Safety Council, our partnership with the International organization Racers Against Street Racing and local private sector organizations, has cemented our commitment to the sport. During these years, National Records were established, Event Winners were revered and National Champions were crowned. The team spirit was also encouraged as this saw the co-operation of independent racers forming teams, complete with logos, stickers and websites, competing for an Annual Team Championship. In 2007, continued success was met with the sudden closure of the Vernamfield Airstrip, due to Government restrictions, however, our Annual Championship Series was permitted to be completed. Through hard work and dedication, our efforts have resulted in the revival of Official racing at the Vernamfield Facility. In a recent Market Research study, the legacy of NDRC is still seen as positive in the staging of events of high quality and entertainment value. Our simple goal is:
To create “A safe and fun filled day where competitors and spectators from all across the entire island of Jamaica, converge on the transformed, Vernamfield Airstrip in Clarendon, to partake in the hefty helpings of adrenaline, competition and friendly rivalry.”
Our strategic partners will be carefully selected to help us in our endeavors, in order to preserve and improve upon the value of NDRC events, providing tangible benefits to all stakeholders, sponsors, racers, and our community development activities. The latter includes the Gimme-Mi-Bit Basic School, Power of Faith Basic School and the Springfield Basic School located in Clarendon.
