WHEN DISCIPLINE IS LOST, THE FIRST VICTIMS ARE FAMILIES
👉During the Gen Z protests, President Ruto warned parents that some of the things being celebrated in the name of democracy had already gone beyond democratic limits.
📍He said it is one thing for young people to question leadership, demand accountability, and participate in national affairs. That is their constitutional right.
📍But it is another thing for young people to abuse leaders online, publish defamatory content, burn property, attack MPs, draw degrading images, put the President in coffins, loot businesses, and turn public disorder into social media content.
📌That is no longer democracy.
📌That is indiscipline dressed as activism.
The President warned parents that while they may think they are protecting their children, the same children may end up punishing them more than they punish the government.
👉When a child is arrested, who looks for bond?
👉When a child is charged, who pays the lawyer?
👉When a child is fined, who struggles to raise the money?
👉When a child is injured, who suffers emotionally and financially?
It is the parent 😌
The government may charge them, but the pain goes back home.
📍That is why parents, churches, schools, and society must guide young people properly. Supporting the youth is good. But support must be within the law, morality, discipline, and respect for other people’s rights.
Now look at what is happening in schools.

📌After the recent school fire incidents, several schools have reportedly been closed because of unrest, burning, and destruction (Over 10 scholls including National Schools). These are not old people. These are young people. The SAME SPIRIT of DISORDER is now entering schools.
👉Some young people no longer demonstrate because they have a clear cause. Some go to the streets because they want to record videos, go live, trend, abuse leaders, and create content.
📍But trending is not a life plan.
📍Going viral is not a career.
📍Burning property is not revolution.
📍Abusing leaders is not leadership.
👉In the next ten years, today’s Gen Z will no longer be “the young people” in the same way. They will have families, responsibilities, rent, businesses, children, and bills.
👉 If they spend their productive years chasing chaos instead of building skills, income, discipline, and networks, they may become the same generation that suffers the most.
📍A generation that destroys schools will later complain there are no opportunities.
📍A generation that burns businesses will later complain there are no jobs.
📍A generation that glorifies disorder will later suffer from the same disorder.
President Ruto’s warning is slowly coming to pass.
This is not about defending government. It is about defending society.
👉Young people must be supported, but they must also be guided. Democracy has limits. Freedom has responsibility. Rights come with duties.
If we fail to CORRECT OUR CHILDREN TODAY, TOMORROW they will soon not only PUNISH the their parents, their communities but also themselves. They will be the Poorest generation.
