Dr Boni Khalwale,CBS was elected to Parliament to perform the duties of representation, legislation and oversight on behalf of Kakamegans but not to peddle lies and mediocre propaganda about Governor Fernandes BARASA. Where was Khalwale when the National Ministry of Agriculture under Mithika Linturi was procuring, supplying and distributing fertilizer full of stones to Kenyans who include Kakamegans? Could it be that Khalwale was in bed with the corrupt cartels at the agriculture ministry to peddle propaganda to the effect that it is counties such as Kakamega which were distributing fake fertilizer to farmers when indeed the fertilizer was emanating from Linturi's ministry in Nairobi? If Jack Wamboka MP for Bumula wouldn't have brought the impeachment motion against Linturi over the fake fertilizer would Khalwale have done it or told Kakamegans the truth? Khalwale nolonger have the interests of Kakamegans at heart except blackmail and self enrichment.

In line with one of his six piece agenda namely enhancing FOOD SECURITY as domiciled in the County Integrated Development Plan recently unveiled, Governor FERNANDES BARASA in conjunction with the US Ambassador to Kenya Meg Whitman have presided over ground breaking of Kakamega County Ferterlizer Manufacturing Plant at Matawa Village of Mumias West. Governor Barasa is committed to provision of affordable farm inputs such as feterlizer and seeds to grassroots farmers to achieve sustainable food security. And the establishment of a manufacturing feterlizer plant is one way of realising the said agenda. Viva.

Kakamega County's journey to become a SWITZERLAND has began with the official launch of a well though out five year roadmap, Kakamega County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) 2023-2027 by GOVERNOR BARASA, that will require Ksh 96.368 Billion to be fully implemented. The roadmap encompasses Barasa's SIX POINT AGENDA for DEVELOPMENT of all SUCOUNTIES of Kakamega both horizontally and vertically beginning with Health, Agriculture, Wealth Creation, Education, Infrastructure etc as contained in his CAMPAIGN MANIFESTO.

Today Governor Fernandes Barasa presided over the distribution of in-calf heifers to dairy farmers at Tumbeni Dairy Plant in Malava Sub-county under the "One Cow Initiative" program. He also inspected the dairy plant which is set to be completed and operationalized by the end of the year. The facility will provide over 1500 job opportunities to the people of Malava and Kakamega County at large.

In recognition of the untapped potential of dairy farming, the County government is putting in place measures in the value chain to the benefit of dairy farmers.

KABRAS EDGE KCB TO CLINCH 2023 KENYA CUP

Kabras Sugar RFC are the 2023 Kenya Cup Champions. The sugar men defeated Kenya Commercial Bank 19-9 in an epic final match played at the Kakamega Agricultural Showground, Kakamega on Saturday; and graced by Kakamega County Governor H.E FCPA Fernandes Barasa, an ardent Kabras RFC supporter.

The Kakamega based charges led by a slim 3-0 at the half time break and made their intention known in the early exchanges of second half by extending the lead to 6-0 after a successful penalty kick by South African import Ntubeni Dukisa. KCB's backline stalwart Darwin Mukidza reduced the scores to 6-3 but received a reply almost immediately from the Kabras fullback for a 9-3 score. Mukidza slotted in two more penalties but an infringement from KCB's loose head prop saw centre referee Victor Oduor award the home side a penalty try stretching the hosts lead further to 16-9. The three extras were added in the dying minutes of the game.

Kabras are now back to back Kenya Cup winners having won this year's league title unbeaten.
