💡 "We can do anything we want to if we stick to it long enough." — Helen Keller

Every entrepreneur hits a wall. A season where the effort doesn't match the results. Where the vision feels clearer than the path.

But here's what the data and the stories of those who made it — keeps showing: the ones who succeed are rarely the most talented. They're the ones who stayed.
That next client, that breakthrough partnership, that moment things finally click — it almost always comes just after the hardest stretch.

If you're building something in East Africa right now, keep going. The market is moving. The opportunity is real.

Glovo is doubling down on Kenya. 🇰🇪

The delivery platform has officially opened its new Nairobi headquarters — and announced a KSh 10 billion investment in the country through 2030.

The Nairobi office currently employs over 600 young Kenyans and serves as Glovo's African digital hub. That headcount is set to hit 1,200 within two years. The platform operates in 12 Kenyan cities, connects over 6,000 merchants, and has contributed KSh 20 billion to local businesses since entering the market in 2019 — 80% of which went to small and medium enterprises.

It is the kind of vote of confidence Kenya's economy doesn't always get from global tech companies.

Airtel Africa just wrapped up its best financial year on record. 📊

Profit tripled to $813 million. Revenue surged to $6.4 billion. And Airtel Money — its mobile payments arm — processed over $215 billion in transactions in a single year.

For East Africa specifically, revenues grew nearly 19% to $2.19 billion, driven by rising data usage and a fast-growing mobile money customer base now at 54 million users.

The Airtel Money IPO, originally planned for 2025, is now targeting the second half of 2026. When it lands, it will be one of the most closely watched listings on the continent.

Big news for Kenyan investors. 🇰🇪

Aliko Dangote is setting up a Kenya-based investment vehicle that will give East Africans direct access to the Dangote Group, with returns paid in US dollars.

This comes ahead of a planned IPO of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, valued at up to $50 billion. The Nairobi Securities Exchange is among six African bourses involved in the listing, expected between June and July 2026.

The World Bank Group has confirmed its backing of what Dangote calls the continent's largest industrial ownership programme.

Safaricom FY2026 Record Profit

Safaricom PLC just closed its biggest financial year ever.

The company posted KSh 100 billion in net income for FY2026 and will pay out KSh 80 billion in dividends to shareholders. To put that in perspective — that dividend payout is larger than the entire GDP of some African countries.

But what do the audited numbers actually show? Our team went through every line of the financials to separate the headlines from the detail.

Most businesses fail not because the idea was bad.

They fail because the founder stopped at ordinary.

Ordinary is finishing the task. Extraordinary is asking what the task was actually trying to solve — and solving that instead.

The extra is not always about working longer. Sometimes it is about thinking deeper, listening harder, or caring more than your competitor is willing to.

East Africa has no shortage of extraordinary entrepreneurs. We cover their stories, their markets, and the numbers that shape their world — every day at khusoko.com.

Kenya's banks scored their best customer satisfaction numbers ever in 2025.
So why are more customers becoming detractors?

The Kenya Bankers Association surveyed over 40,000 customers and found satisfaction with primary banks at 84.6%. But complaint resolution within two days dropped sharply, from 75.4% to 66.5%. The Net Promoter Score also fell.

Here is what else the survey found:
📱 60.1% of customers rank mobile banking first
🏦 66% rate their secondary bank positively
🤖 76.8% say AI tools improved their satisfaction
♿ 93.7% of customers with disabilities bank independently
🏆 Equity Bank ranked first overall, followed by NCBA and KCB

Satisfaction is up. Complaint handling is down. The gap between the two tells the real story of Kenya's banking sector in 2025.
