I decided to do a research study on the Military prowess of the Egyptians
Scroll Down to the end...........
Why do you think the Egyptians had the audacity to follow the Israelites in the Red Sea..........
The Egyptians were highly skilled in warfare and military strategy. Their army was well-equipped and organized, making them a dominant force in the ancient world.
Military Equipment:
Chariots: Egyptian chariots were light, fast, and highly maneuverable. They often carried a driver and a warrior armed with bows and arrows, making them effective for both mobility and striking power in battle.
Weapons: The Egyptian army was equipped with a variety of weapons, including spears, swords (khopesh), bows and arrows, axes, and slings. The khopesh, a sickle-shaped sword, was particularly symbolic of their combat prowess.
Shields and Armor: While their armor was relatively light, Egyptian soldiers used leather or bronze coverings for protection. They also carried large shields made of wood and leather, which provided good defense while maintaining mobility.
Skills and Tactics:
Archery: Egyptian archers were renowned for their skill. They could strike from a distance, weakening enemy forces before engaging in close combat.
Chariot Warfare: The Egyptians mastered the use of chariots, which allowed them to break through enemy lines and quickly maneuver across the battlefield.
Organized Infantry: Their infantry was well-trained, and Egyptian soldiers were organized into specialized units, each responsible for different tasks in battle, from spearmen to archers to shock troops.
Expertise in Warfare:
Strategy: The Egyptians were excellent tacticians, often using psychological warfare and diplomacy before engaging in battle.
They would also employ strategic positioning of their troops, use of the terrain, and surprise attacks.
Siege Warfare: They had experience in laying siege to fortified cities, using battering rams, ladders, and other siege equipment to overpower defenses.
Naval Warfare: Though primarily known for their land forces, Egyptians also had a capable navy. They used ships to transport troops along the Nile and during campaigns abroad.
The Egyptians believed that it was "business as usual" when they pursued the Israelites into the Red Sea, not realizing that the situation had drastically shifted.
The tables had turned, the Israelites were no longer their captives but were under divine protection.
Unaware of God's intervention, the Egyptians thought they could easily overpower the Israelites again.
However, as the waters parted for the Israelites, the Egyptians saw an excellent opportunity to completely destroy the Israelites, little did they know, that their deliverance had been sealed.
When the enemy feels so strategic and highly skilled to make the last blow on you, remember the Israelites.
Shalom.
