Sunday felt like more than just a walk… it felt like a movement. ✨

Afrikala Arts had the honor of joining 3rd Park Hospital for a 5KM silent walk at Karura Forest-raising awareness on endometriosis and adenomyosis and reminding us all that period pain is not normal.

And yes… we walked, played games but we also danced A LOT. 💃🏾
There was so much joy, so much energy, and such a beautiful sense of community.

We learned, unlearned and connected, with even a nutritionist on site from guiding us on healthier living.

To everyone who showed up-you made it unforgettable. 💃🏽✨❤️
To those who missed it… you really did 😅 but the conversation has just begun.

Who knew crayons could bring out so much joy? 🖍️🎨

Our art therapy session had everyone feeling like kids again , picking colors, comparing drawings, debating which shades looked better and laughing the whole time. Strangers became friends, people bonded over their artwork, and for a moment everyone just slowed down and enjoyed creating.

It was such a fun and relaxing moment at our Wellness Corner during the People’s Dialogue Festival. Sometimes all you need is a few crayons, good vibes and great company.

If you visited the wellness corner,we would love to hear your experiences.🥳✨

At the People’s Dialogue Festival, Afrikala Art hosted a Wellness Corner where we had open conversations about Sexual & Reproductive Health.

We talked about sexual reproduction, contraceptives, STIs/HIV, early pregnancy, protection and the importance of counseling. The discussions started in small groups and later we shared together as one big circle.

Creating safe spaces to learn, ask questions and understand each other is part of the work we do at Afrikala Art. 🌱

💬 What topic would you like us to include in our next Sexual & Reproductive Health session?

Mental Hoops Mtaani Season 5 didn’t come together by chance.

It happened because the Afrikala Art team,Afrikala Art volunteers and showed up, did the work, solved problems, supported each other and kept mental health at the centre even when things got hectic.

A lot of what you did won’t be seen online: the planning, the coordination, the emotional labour, the long days. But it mattered. And it made a real difference.

Thank you for your commitment, your teamwork and for caring about the people behind the numbers.
This season reflects your effort 🤍
