It’s been a little over a decade since I got my first phone, a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc LT15i.
In the village, that was a luxury. I don’t even remember how it landed in my hands, but i guess was a gift from a family friend. Funny enough, I rarely got phone calls. Maybe one or two a week usually from my Mother or my sister.
So I discovered what later became my favorite feature: the camera.
Suddenly, I was the family photographer. From our tiny baby goat to my sister’s early experiments with makeup (let’s just say… now I know better), I captured it all. Moments turned into stories.
Then one day, my cousin asked to borrow it for her school trip I even trained her on how to take great shots.
She went.
The phone never came back.
That was the last time I saw my Sony.
But looking back I wasn’t just taking photos. I was telling stories.
That was the annoying, beautiful beginning of City Caption Media.
Today, every time I set up a podcast, there’s a fire in me. I get to be the first audience to hear someone’s story unfiltered, unrehearsed, real. And when they laugh, cry, pause, or restart, I know I’m exactly where I’m meant to be.
Because the reward isn’t just the content.
It’s witnessing a human moment and helping them preserve it.
