!! INTERVIEW HIGHLIGHT!!

I had a wonderful conversation with Jovi A.K.A the Mboko God

Jovi (born Ndukong Godlove Nfor) is a highly influential Cameroonian rapper, songwriter, producer, and entrepreneur. Often referred to as the "Mboko God", he pioneered Mboko, a signature sub-genre of African hip-hop that blends traditional Cameroonian sounds like Makossa and Bikutsi with modern trap and electro, while often rapping in English, French, and Cameroon Pidgin.

A cornerstone of the Central African music scene, Jovi (also known by his production alias Le Monstre) has achieved massive regional and global success with hit tracks like "Don 4 Kwat" and albums such as H.I.V and Mboko God. In 2014, he was nominated for Best International Act at the BET Awards. He is also the founder of the label New Bell Music, which has been instrumental in promoting local Cameroonian talent.

Jovi's success and influence have made him an inspiration to many young rappers in Cameroon.

We talked about hip-hop culture in Africa, the future of African music and so much more.

There are dinners… and then there are moments that stay with you long after the table is cleared. The kind you replay in your mind, not just for the flavours, but for the feeling. On March 21st, Hemingways Nairobi invited the top media personalities in Kenya into something extraordinary, an encounter with Le Petit Chef, the world’s smallest chef, and quite possibly, its most unforgettable host.

On our plates, a tiny chef appeared animated, expressive, and brimming with personality. He moved with theatrical flair, chopping, stirring, and navigating oversized ingredients with both confidence and chaos. It was playful, yes but also deeply intimate.

!! INTERVIEW HIGHLIGHT!!

I had an enlightening conversation with Brian Diang'a A.K.A The Beast.

As gaming has evolved beyond entertainment into a global industry worth hundreds of billions of dollars, creating opportunities across esports, content creation, software development, digital marketing, event management, animation, and technology innovation.

Globally, organizations such as the UN are exploring gaming as a tool for education, engagement, and expanding access to digital ecosystems. However, many Kenyan parents and young people still perceive gaming primarily as a distraction rather than a viable career and innovation pathway.

Thee Beast’s journey challenges this perception and demonstrates how gaming can become a platform for growth, creativity, and economic empowerment.

Raised in Kibera, one of Africa’s largest informal settlements, Thee Beast has leveraged gaming to create opportunities, build networks, and represent Kenya on international platforms.

Through gaming, he has built meaningful local and international networks. He has represented Kenyan youth in global digital conversations. Advocated for digital inclusion and youth empowerment and inspired young people from underserved communities to explore technology and innovation.

A Conversation with President Emmanuel Macron was a key highlight of his journey was his engagement with French President Emmanuel Macron during his visit to Kenya for the Africa Forward Summit. This moment demonstrated how gaming and digital culture are increasingly becoming part of global conversations around innovation, youth leadership, and economic development.

The conversation will also provided an opportunity to address the often-misunderstood relationship between gaming and mental health.

We talked about how gaming provided purpose, community, and a sense of belonging, The positive role gaming can play in personal growth and skill development and so much more.

!! INTERVIEW HIGHLIGHT!!

I had an insightful conversation with Claire Wamboi Founder and CEO of ElevateHer.

Claire Wamboi is the Founder and CEO of ElevateHer Sports & Entertainment, trading under Altius Core Group Ltd. This is Africa’s first specialist women’s sports marketing and commercial growth agency, based in Nairobi, Kenya.

Launched in April 2026, ElevateHer builds the commercial infrastructure, visibility strategies, and revenue structures that women’s sport in East Africa has never had.

In her first six weeks, Claire produced a sold-out empowerment summit, secured an anchor client mandate with the Women Empowerment League (WEL), and launched For All The Stars Africa’s first basketball culture experience, happening on 25 July 2026 at Nairobi Street Kitchen, Westlands.

She also serves as Marketing Consultant for the Women Empowerment League (WEL), under the FarEast Basketball Association (FEBA), and is a confirmed presenter at the SportsBiz Africa Forum investor pitch in Kigali, Rwanda, in September 2026.

Did you know:

"Women’s sport in Africa is the most undervalued commercial asset on the continent. The talent is here. The fans are here. Nobody has built the infrastructure to turn that into revenue until now."

"Global women’s sport is on track to hit USD 3 billion this year. Africa doesn’t appear in the regional breakdown. That is not a problem that is an opportunity."

"When you buy a ticket to For All The Stars, you are not just coming to an event. You are investing in women’s sport. A portion of every ticket goes directly to the Women Empowerment League."

We talked about the need for representation of Kenyan women in sports, what it means Africa’s first specialist women’s sports marketing and commercial growth agency and so much more.
