Sometimes we already know. Our prices need to change. Our marketing doesn’t reflect what we actually do. We’re stretched too thin to keep doing everything ourselves.

But acknowledging it means doing something about it. So we put it off and keep working harder.

Before you add another thing to your to-do list, ask yourself: what am I trying to outwork that I actually need to address? 👀

Yesterday I had the privilege of presenting to UAF’s Principles of Marketing class. We had such a great conversation about marketing and connecting with the people you want to reach, and how to truly understand your target audience.

Then I walked out and saw the college’s mission on the wall. How appropriate. 😂

Knowing your business’s mission helps you get clear on what you stand for, who you serve, and what you want to communicate. If your marketing feels scattered, that’s a good place to start.

Wondering why your business isn’t taking off? Start by showing up.

Get in front of the camera. Talk to your ideal audience. Tell them what you do and how you can help. Be a human talking to other humans.

Will that solve everything? No. But I think showing up consistently is where most small businesses get stuck with their marketing.

People can’t choose you if they don’t know you’re there.

Getting my new office ready has been a reminder that growth doesn’t always look pretty while you’re in it. Sometimes it’s dust, hard work, and wondering what you got yourself into.

But there’s something really satisfying about clearing out what no longer fits and making room for what’s next.

Right now, it’s messy. And I’m excited anyway. đŸ€
